No, everything else would work normally without the microwave function. You would need to make sure the door still fits well with its frame or it could leak microwaves. Ideally it would be good to test it for leakage after the cooker is installed.

I have one of these Micro-Range combinations but the Hotpoint branded version, made 1972. Mine worked when I found it on CL six months ago, just needed cleaning. It's a very nice range and a great baking oven. Others have much more experience working on and using these and can give more insight but I'd say if you're curious about these, grab this one and play with it for a while.

The ad you found says everything works but they may not have tried the microwave function. The microwave components are in the base of the range, where the storage drawer would normally be so you do lose that space. Despite the color :-) they are great ranges, it's too bad they never really caught on.

Mr. G

That's a nice-looking Hotpoint version you have! Thank you for the additional information.  I think, based on the color and the fact that there's no storage, I'll let someone else go for this one.  The color I might be able to live with, but I do need that storage capability.

Oooooh :) my parents have a Thermador wall oven with the microwaving function. Micro-broiling is the best way to reheat pizza I've ever seen. I didn't know anyone else every made something like that.
