Ah yes Nathan, you are right.

Rondo

What a fabulous laundry set up that must have been, a pre-wash / soak / to boil in the Rondo then a profile wash in the Miele and tumble dry in the Siemens,

quite the set-up !!

The Rondo does look like the Savage, tumble washer on the right angled drive joint and tip upright for the vertical drive spin dry...have you ordered the courier Louis ?

Heres a few pics of the one over here...

I would be over the moon to have that Miele. I've wanted a rear control panel version for as long as I've been collecting :) I find they're just a beautiful style.

Unfortunately here the W423 was one of the first models directly imported. Before that it was on the whim of Europeans immigrating.

Where is Endora or Samantha When You Need Them?

Need them to zap those appliances from Germany to New York! *LOL*

In a pinch would only take the washer and TL dryer. That Miele washer pulls way too much juice (>6k watts) for domestic use. Well at least on this side of the pond. IIRC the modern "Little Giant" washers and other commercial washers from Miele aren't that far off voltage requirement wise.

Low spin speed for the Miele washer wouldn't bother one at all. That is why Miele then marketed spin driers (extractors) and is what one would still use today.

Hi Louis,

thanks for sharing with us this beautis. The Rondo is indeed very interesting.

The Siemens topload dryer is the same as the one that had my aunt. In fact she still has it, but a couple of months ago something has burned and now it is there waiting to be thrown away :(

The Miele is simply gorgeous. Build and tough like a "panzer".

7 kg would have been a remarkable capacity for a domestic machine back then where I suppose the normal capacity would have been around 3.5 - 4Kg.

Oh well, I least I do have the dishwasher from the advertisement above, even if it is not working yet. And hopefully I will have some more Miele to show soon :)
