Early 70's

The door handle is chrome and the lint compartment has a hindged lid. This was just before Inglis/WP dryers went to the plastic body-coloured door handle and 1-piece lint screen. The position of the lint trap means it's a single-belt-drive model (with the long lint screen), which was the newer design of that time.

I didn't know they had RCA-branded WPs here in Canada, since the RCA laundry appliances up here were usually made by Westinghouse.

There was no mention of the model name on the control panel but the instruction manual did.

Inglis usually didn't share their series names with Whirlpool appliances but this seems to be an exception.

I have seen RCA branded Inglis/Whirlpool dishwashers from the early seventies too (it had the chrome door latch seem on most pre-1976 Whirlpool dishwashers). My aunt had one. It didn't say RCA Whirpool on the control panel, just RCA with the same font as on the dryer above and the dishwasher below.

So far, the only pic I found on internet of an RCA dishwasher showed the Westinghouse version (which seems from the same period).

I remember Pauls TV & Appliance at our local mall selling RCA appliances back in the early 70's before I left town in 74.
Last year a minty RCA wringer washer appeared at the local Habitat Restore probably from around the same time.

I Remember The Agitators.....

In the Whirlpool/Inglis made machines.
Although the standard amazing "Super Surgilator" agitators, they had the most stunning colour of blue I had ever seen in an agitator.
I still have never seen that colour duplicated.

RCA Supreme 80

Wow! This is my dryer! I'm surprised to see her here. This is her with scratches on top. I bought it in a store appliances used in Trois-Rivières. Displayed at the same price. Lolll! I love this dryer .... quiet and efficient.

RCA dryer

Cap de la Madelaine. I bought it a month ago. Beaudet appliances store. I wonder what is the year of manufacture of the dryer? 1970...72...73...????

I guess the mid-seventies would be correct. My former Inglis Supreme dryer was from 1974. I got it from my parents who got it new.

Recently, there was an estate auction featuring two Inglis Supreme machines which seemed in good condition. I couldn't get there as I've seen the ad the day (or should I say the night) before the auction and it was a 5 hour drive from home!

I well remember the RCA Whirlpool brand washers/dryers. There was a short time (late 70's, early 80's I think) that RCA badged GE appliances were available. I remember my cousin having either the washer or dryer, maybe both. Rather BOL filter flow or rim flow style console and cabinet.

Inglis

Very nice set of laundry Inglis. My great Aunt Lucille had a similar, kind model; Inglis Liberator 1973. These models are beginning to be rare among traders used appliances. Often it is the transmission (washer), which makes the soul after more than 30 years of laundry.

Nante village is not far from the Lac-Mégantic. It is long past. The auction ... it looks like the home of an elderly person. There are many antiques or vintage! Very Interesting!

With my RCA dryer ... I bought a Maytag A310. It has been made in August 1983. She is 30 years old. It has almost new or air! I love it.

Before I had a whole laundry brand Estate. I bought new in 2008. And I really hated. Washing machine waltz on the floor and dryer creaks. A duo of the devil. hahaha!

Photo representative Maytag .... mine is almond color!

RCA Brand

Indeed, RCA was manufactured by Whirlpool and after by Genéral Électric. It seems to me that the RCA appliances are rare in Canada. Is it still exists in the United States?

This being an old thread I wasn't sure if I should revive it.
But here's some info that people may be interested in.
That dryer looks like the pair to the RCA Washer I have.
Same from panel design etc.
My machine is labeled as an "RCA Custom 60"
PLate says:
Distributed by RCA Limited, Montreal, Canada
Model WAA600
Ser#757325
110v 7.5A 60cy

P.S.In fact I found this thread looking for some info on mine.
I've been using it since I got it for free back in the early 90's
The original owner though it died, but the belt had been replaced with one the wrong size and it was too tight. I changed the belt at it has worked ever since.

Unfortunately it stopped draining a few days ago and I'm look for a repair manual for it or a similar model.

Can you tell if these are Westinghouse or Inglis/Whirlpool based machines? What's written on the agitator? Any pictures?
