We got our first color TV in '68. a big Zenith with a colonial cabinet, $800 and no stereo, or remote. It did have push button tuning, two buttons at the top activated a motor that changed the channels, with a knob for the UHF stations. Haven't thought about it for years, but even now I remember the "thunk-a thunk-a" sound it made when you changed channels.
