NIce !

Love the machines - and like some other folks have mentioned - the pastel peg board is a great retro laundry touch!

Pics of the FL Westy

Gary,

Is it possible to post pics of the control panel of the FL Westy? Also what does the dispensers on top have on them?

The FL Westy is one of my favorite machines!

Peace,
David

Very nice collection!

Nice range of colours on the Maytags, Cory! Hmmmm... would the room be required for a set of turquoise space-mates perhaps?? Thanks for sharing the pictures!!

Great shots Cory! The peg board is a nice WOW statement for the washer area. Glad to see some fill shots of the Frigidaire and the gold Maytag.

Guys - Cory is being moddest with the Lodge. The place is great and the washer area is stunning!

Love the Frigidaire

Looks like the king of the machines. Wondering when they restyled the jet ports, making them longer and wider ~

Wow, thanks guys!

Gary, I wish I had a closeup of that dial on the 806- it IS engraved unlike some of the lowly early machines that would lose all their markings, but it's done up in a steel-blue paint, and of course it's before Maytag started adding that glossy acrylic so it just sort of matte-ly sits there. By comparison, the gold machine has a beautiful turquoise and gray dial.

If you look closely you'll also see the white 806 has 5 wash/rinse temp buttons on the left, 3 individual buttons for Regular, Permanent Press and Delicate, and 3 for water level.

The later 806 gives you 4 water levels, drops the deli/reg/PP and subs 4 buttons for wash speed and spin speed. And I do believe there were a couple other incarnations!

James, the other 'tag is actually an early A606. Someone took care of this one (check the pic!)

David, the dispensers on top of the Westy are for bleach and fabric softener. I'll check at home and see if I have a closeup of the panel.

Paul, you are sneaky! Yessir, the turquoise Spacemates made it thanks to our generous webmaster : ) Looks like a few more projects to tackle this winter.

Gary, I found a couple pics in the archive. The first was taken off Ben's sudsaver 806 with the steel-blue lettering. Looking at it now I realize there are no reliefs in his dial which mine has....something else new!

And for some reason I have this photo which shows both the "unprotected" 806 color dial and the revised version with the acrylic seal.

What's odd is that I thought there was a relief cut into these dials so the silver appearance ring sits flush, but I'm not seeing it on the left (you'll note the slight rolled lip of the right ring which I swear fits into a groove). Ben, your thoughts???

The Westy has got to be one of the last prior to the buyout, somewhere in the '68/'69 timeframe I'd wager. It's a uni-directional machine but still loads of fun when the solenoids kick in!

Ben tells me up until 1969 Maytag used the same dial for the 206 and the 606 which explains my picture above where the leftmost dial lacks the trim recess. You've gotta hand it to 'em...they were nuts.

Awesome machines Cory!

Your Westinghouse is definitely an editorial piece!

Thanks for the photo's.
