The 'reason' I won't be having one is because I'm a traditionalist and like to see the washing going round!

Reason washing machine

Not for me, as i like to see my washing, sudsyness, tumbling, spinning, amount of water etc.

Yes Tom i'd also prefer traditional washers especially the hotpoint 9534. As it does the cottons 40oc in 40 mins, i'd call that energy efficient coz it does the job excellently as well as in a short time. I'd love to have one again!

BTW Hows the hotpoint 9534 going in daily use? (still using it in daily use?)

Re. the Hotpoint, I'm not currently using it in daily use, but am using the Zanussi Z9191T Washcraft. When the summer comes round I'll bring the 9534 back inside, hope she's survived the cold winter in the shed!

We have actually sold our Siemens to a family friend, so we no longer have anything made after 1989! I've got another machine on the way which you may or may not have heard about.

You're right about the 9534 though, you can't beat them for their no nonsense approach to getting on with the job (None of this unbalance sensor business either).

It's a 1989 Zanussi ZFL1023 Jetsystem, quite a rare machine. Some pics coming soon hopefully.

Reasons for the Reason....

Love the fact its a new "Washer Design" sort of proves all is not lost with our Design & Manufacturing process...I would also like to "Watch it Wash"...not sure how reliable the slider mechanism would be after banging into it when open, and would you dare take your Laundry Basket and hook it onto the plastic door...the Titan drum bottom has all sorts of scratches on it where its been placed on the floor many times....

My Spec would be:
10kg Load
Hot & Cold fill - take account of Solar Water Heating / Eco washing
1600rpm Variable spin speed, increments of 200rpm
Manual Variable Time, Temp & Spin Speed Programming
Automated ITCL Wash Programmes, one dial selection
Self Cleaning Vortex Pump
Self Cleaning Detergent Dispenser with hot water BackFlush
Self Cleaning Conditioner / Starch Dispenser as above
3 Reservoir sump / ballast tank
1. Clean Fresh Cold Water
2. Sudz save from wash water
3. Rinse save from last clear rinse
Drop Down wheels for easy moving

I couldnt work out how the drum would slide out, but thinking about it, everything must be attached to the outer tub, i.e. motor, pump, ballast tanks, and it must all slide out together...so the linckages at the back are not the drive mechanism...if that makes sense....£703 at the moment...

Youc can use powder as you can turn the pod system off and just throw powder into the drum before starting wash.

I bet if Dyson is going to get out a new machine it will have to be better than this! (they did once say they are working on a new machine, but can't release any information)

I asked the dyson rep a while ago if i would see a dyson washer ever again. They said maybe ;-) couldn't say. And i read somewhere they were working on a cheaper version!

I'll def get one if they do!

...dead body will I throw powder in the drum...the last time I had to do that was with a Hoover Zodiac 475, and I don't see why I should have to do it now....

It is quite simple....if they have designed a kick arse machine, give people choice as to how to use it....
