Repair General Electric Monitor Top fridge from 1936...

The current owner of this CK machine has had it for 9 years. It's a treasured family possession, named Monty. About one year ago Monty started having less and less frost on its evaporator, finally dwindling down to one pass of the coil frosted up. Monty's owners live in California and can find nobody willing to even look at it. They crated it up, and to Alabama it came. These two videos highlight the troubleshooting undertaken.

For shipping cost reasons, he sent only the cooling unit in for repairs. I do have a picture of the whole thing, from before it was sent here though.

LOL in the picture of the fridge in its owner's home; the answer to your question is an evaporator with one pass frosted, weakly LOL!

Thanks Hans.  I try to make them work like new whenever possible! 

Also, after a week away, I powered it back on and within a few minutes, it was ice cold again! Happy it didn't leak out while I was away LOL!
