Shane, I think telling a member of our forum he or she must leave is wrong.
I disagree with Runematic on lots of things...probably most things...actually, just 'bout everything...but he has just as much right to be here as you or me or anyone else Samantha feels like keeping around. His sexuality or commitment to guns/NRA is his business. I defend his right to stand for Rick Santorum...a man I personally find despicable. If you want him to see the world through our eyes, then engage him in an intelligent discourse...
If you think he should go, then you want me to leave too - 'cause I won't be part of a group which advocates "tolerance" by discriminating.

Just so everyone knows: Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK and a notorious racist. He was one of the "Dixiecrats": Southern Democrats who were opposed to the civil rights act. Most of the Dixiecrats moved over to the GOP when the civil rights act passed. Byrd did not. He renounced the Klan, and renounced his racist past. He asked for forgiveness, and forgiveness was given, and he was allowed to stay in the Democratic party. He has also been re-elected to Congress for decades, where he is now an elder stateman. Allusions to his racist past are fair. Accusations that he is a currently racist are not.
If you don't know history, you're bound to be come a victim of it.

Out of all of the candidate signs around town, one is standing out. Someone is putting up nicely done signs that simply say: Vote out congress. I hope that all of the polls are right, and we do get some much needed change.

I never vote straight ticket,I always vote the person.And I'm registered Republican.
Having said that,I plan on voting against our incumbent Republican congressman.In 4 years in office,he's shown that he's nothing but a Bush yes man.4 years ago,he stated that if elected,he would back Bush 100%.Not what's good for the district,or the country,but what Republican leadership wanted.That's when Bush was popular. Now that his numbers have tanked,our congressman,Chris Chocola,is sort of keeping his distance from Bush. No presidential fundraisers,etc,like before.
Locally,there are good people on both tickets.

I'm a 5th generation Democrat and proud of it! However, I never vote a straight ticket, I vote for the person and what they stand for. Here in WI this year the 2 hot topics are the gubernatorial race, and the gay marriage amendment to our state costitution. The wording on the ballot is somewhat confusing to the underinformed and elderly, yes means no, and vice versa.

I understand thinking that illegal alliens should have no driver's licenses. It kinda makes sense.
What I don't understand is _why_ people think illegal aliens will get valid driver's licenses -- particularly in MA, you need a Social Security Number, which you can't have if you are illegally here. Do you have any data to contradict this? I just got my license renewed and I had to give them my SSN *despite* the fact that they already have it on file, I've been driving in MA for many years.
My impression is that what's her name is just using that empty threat to get votes. Unless she means he's gonna literally give away fake licenses or fake SSNs, it's not gonna happen.

You cannot get a license without proper documentation.

I'm voting pretty much straight Democratic. The one and only important issue to me is to send the message to all politicians that the Bush/Cheney platforms on all issues stink.

Yes, along with the rest of my family I will generally vote Democratic, I would actually like to vote for Rick, but if mother ever found out I did I would never hear the end of it. In fact, if she were to pass away I would hear from her ghost! Here is why I think people find Rick!! more exciting:
1. Rick gets all steamed up and "Wants to Fight!"!
2. Rick must have a better hairdresser than Bob Casey does, even though his hairstyle is kinda "nerdy".
3. Rick went to Penn State! He has light blue suit!
4. Rick must know a gay tailor. He (and Mike Veon!) dress sharp!
5. Maybe what I heard about him and Michael Jackson might have some truth to it!
Meanwhile, his opponent is Bob Casey, who:
1. Speaks too mellow, needs to get steamed!.
2. Either he needs a NuHart Hair Clinic or he needs to go all bald, actually I think that would make him more exciting!
3. Please, Bob, get the unibrow trimmed!
4. But, Bob comes across as definitely straight!
Recently there was a Clay Aiken interview where he gets more steamed than the GE Boiling Water Reactor that Professor Woods talks about. When you're running for office, I think it helps to get steamed!

Panthera~ If you will read my post accurately, you will see I never told Runematic to "leave" this site..I clearly was making an observation that he was supporting one of the most Homophobic,Bigoted Senators in the country,Rick Santorum. Since Automatic Washer is a site many people,including a very large number of gay men frequent, I find it offensive he would make this statement. Anyone in my book who supports a candidate who discriminates...Discriminates..

Actually, the fact that he is Irish and pale could work in his favor, as pale seems to be the look now. I notice even Rick is more pale, and so is the guitarist John Mayer - a look started by Michael Jackson!

nix the hair comments. Hairy men are HHHOTTTTTT ! Shaved guys are bland and a turn-OFF. Very unnatural, high maintenance, unrealistic, and unhealthy.
You have to laugh/vomit at the site of skin that is red/scarred from shaving or electrolisized or lazering (barf out). And the unnatural occurances of a "computer technician" with huge pecs. get real.
It is just trying to make people feel like they can't be themselves even in the most private ways. sickening. I'm certainly not playing. Again, the "ugly look of Republican".
Only when all our worldly problems are solved do we have time and money to waste on such stupid things as uglifying ones self.

Where is the Real person? This in American society where people are more over weight then ever.
All I can think is- Remember all the beautiful people from Studio 54 and Fire Island in the late 70's.
