First Kitchen Aid Dishwasher. A beauty! This popped up on Craigslist last week, emailed the owner and asked if it was still available. The response <span style="font-family: 'times new roman', 'new york', times, serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; font-weight: normal;">Hi Jon.  The dishwasher is actually still installed in our kitchen, but we could have it removed by the weekend if you are serious about the dishwasher and coming to buy it.  When on Saturday would you be here?  Thanks, Pam"</span>

<span style="font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino;">And actually it was used the Friday nite before I came Saturday! 60 years in service! Now ya wanna see the pics??</span>

Catch of the century!

WOW! A true treasure! They don't even have one of these at the little KA museum in Greenville Ohio! They have the 2nd generation of them there.
The commercial version of this unit was the Original Model UM.

My Aunt had one of these in her kitchen in 1966 which she bout for like 20 bucks out of the "BUY-LINES" up in NYC,

Got to lve the Stainless Racks!
Good Luck and I hope you get to use it every day.

Wow that is a great find Jon!!! And it looks like its in really nice shape.

LOVE the rare GREEN speckles!  Can we get a shot of the interior with the stainless racks?

This house was built in 1951

and has a comlpete metal cabinet kitchen, couldn't quite see the label, it wasn't Youngstown.
They are the third owners and are restoring the cabinets and searching for a "retro" dishwasher whatever that means I'm not sure. But they were using this right up till I bought it.
You couldn't get more retro than a KD-10.

Wow Jon, Im' all a tingle and taken my breath away. I can say for sure I have never seen one of these. Every KA I've seen had the vinyl coated racks. Also, the filter/sump arrangement isn't anything I've ever seen, am I correct it's different than subsequent KAs?

Yes Bob it was their first design and

it is SOOO SIMPLE I can't believe they changed it out. That tube just has a rubber seal around the bottom and it just lifts up for drain just like a sink plunger in your bathroom sink. Its all brass under thare too! And the tube is all sized for automatic overflow without adding another pressure switch to the mix.
