I took a stroll thru Value Village the other day which I haven't done in weeks if not months and happened upon this delightful Moulinex drip coffee maker just begging to come home with me and for $5.99 I wasn't about to leave it there.
I don't recollect ever seeing this coffee maker in any catalog or store. As well there isn't any model/serial/manufacturers name/country etc imprinted on it anywhere, zilch. Just Moulinex on the on/off switch.
I'm guessing that it's 70's,, it's all plastic except for the chrome base and glass carafe. The water reservoir does not remove.
It works well. Took about 30 seconds before the first spits of water were coming out and then away she went.
Since it uses cone paper filters I think they make a better cup of coffee, especially small amounts, as compared to my HB seen behind it which uses cupcake type paper filters.
Anyone remember seeing this machine before?

I remember those although I don't recall the brand or where I saw it. The one I remember was in avocado green so that'll help date it. I'd say early to mid 1970s.
How wonderful yours is complete and the fact that it works means it was treated well and is a testament to how well things were still being built back then.

On a sidebar note:
I was just on the phone with Pete telling how the snow squalls suddenly came up this morning when I was trying to get out of town at 9 AM - twice - to drive to Sarnia on the 402 to see Pete (and go to the Detroit Auto Show). I got turned back in St Marys 20 minutes south because the roads were being closed.

It would have been about 10:30 when I got to Sarnia, had I continued. Obviously my Guardian Angel was watching out for me...

Oh well, it's a majorly good TV night and the storm has passed now. Friday is to be much calmer with the sun out so off to Cobo Hall I go...

I'd like to know where it was made but there's nothing imprinted on it, back, sides, underneath. You'd think France but then my Moulinex food processor was made in the USA.
I just love this coffeemaker, makes me happy just looking at it LOL I wished we had a modern/sleek looking kitchen.. would look great

Showed the caffee makers picture to my wife and she said In the 70's Tupperware had either that coffee maker or the Moulinex meat grinder and the cone salad stuff.  She opted for the grinder.

Pete your orange just matches the orange tupperware of that period.  We have some ion orange but more of the yellow.

Close Enough?

When in doubt I go right to ebay, there's usually good info available if you wait long enough. Seems like you might be missing the water distribution plate above the basket but Regal might be its origin. Nice find!

Could indeed be Regal made come to think of it. I think they made the "La Machine" FP in the US which was branded Moulinex (not "La Machine") in Canada and elsewhere. Or these were actually Moulinex made in France or ? and Regal sold them in the US using both names because Moulinex wasn't a known brand there at the time..
Kind of like Norelco shavers, that name was only used in the US, everywhere else they were Philips shavers. Recently they're using both names side by side it seems maybe in order to slowly retire the Norelco name.

Back in the 60's & 70's most Hamilton Beach appliances, mixers, electric knives blenders etc were branded Philips in Canada which is odd in a way. Not sure why that was.

My goodness, that takes me back!!   This was THE first automatic 'drip' coffee maker our family ever owned (I am guessing we got it in 1976 or 1977).   They were probably not that popular, 'cause I remember ours came from a discount store called 'Miracle Mart' who were big into end-of-line closeout buys - these coffeemakers were offered up at 9.99 and even my thrify father thought this was too good a deal to pass up!!

It was THE coolest coffeemaker in the neighbourhood (well, until we got one of the first GE 'spacemaker' under cupboard ones!)

Thanks for sharing, this, Pete!!

WAsn't Miracle Mart a grocery store too? I seem to remember one here eons ago.

BTW.. I took another closer look at it and in my head cold daze I've been suffering all week just couldn't see the makers mark hidden on the side
It's made in France by Moulinex.
