Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

As I've often stated, Ecolab does NOT like it's products sold to, or used by non-commercial businesses (read domestic consumers). While one may often get ahold of various Ecolab products, don't contact the company for directions or assistance, as they won't give anything away to anyone who is not a professional/businsses. On one had am shocked by this approach, but considering some of their products contain some very nasty and dangerous chemicals, can see their point.

Various Ecolab products do pop up on eBay, but again unless one knows what one is doing, it is best to leave them to the pros. That being said, am still working my way through a case of their phosphate detergent, and must say the stuff cleans VERY well for a non-bio detergent.

I love SA 8

I use it as well as the German Persil, for me it just depends what i am washing. The Sa-8 I used when I lived at home with my parents, so it was something that was very normal. My mother says that it has contributed to the longevity of her Maytag? Maybe? I do like the smell, the company is also inovative.

My apologies. I opened the box last night and saw it had a blue scoop then looked at the name and I think it is the Bioquest or Bio something. I should have written it down. I can't remember anything anymore. Tom

SA8

I remember having a sample of sa8 in my "Kit" when I tried my hand at "Owning" an A***y business. It washed great even though my mom hated it because it didn't make any suds.

I've always wondered. At such a HIGH price, is it worth getting and does it really equal 1 1/2 or whatever boxes of Tide?

At least now you can order it online without the pushy salesmen and the brainwashing.

Paying for less

Laundress: as usual, right on the money. Ecolab doesn't want to talk to anybody other than pros and does everything possible to frustrate attempts. This is why my buddy Dan had to be enlisted to order the stuff. As it is we were both shocked by the amount available and how much it cost. The detergent with bleach cost about three times as their enzyme product which I also find to be pretty damn good.

I remember a 50 lb. bag of All detergent when I worked at Aetna in Connecticut. I loaded a machine up with the stuff and it produced absolutely NO suds. I figured it was pure professional detergent with absolutely no sudsing agent added. Apparently detergent manufacturers still have to ADD suds to the basic product and do it to keep all the ninnies out there that need to see suds to believe their clothes are getting clean. Ironic that not only do we have to look hard to find low/no sudsing detergents but we also have to pay more for something that is NOT added. America, you got to love it.

Someone was selling one of those huge "low sudsing" commercial/professional All detergent boxes on fleaBay several weeks ago. Passed on the thing after I read the MSDS. Apparently the stuff is loaded with sodium hydroxide (lye), which speaks volumes as to why it is so low foaming! *LOL*

Ecolab is owned by Henkel (as in Persil), so it would be interesting to see if any of their professional laundry products match or equal their German cousins.

Yes, would belive how much Ecolab products cost, and yes there is lots out there if one knows where to look. Like most commercial product distributors/sellers, Ecolab does not take products back, so if the business goes belly up or switches product line, stock has to be disposed of somehow. Much of Ecolab's product line is now solid or in some form that requires their dispeners to work. Even the dispensers are programmed by an Ecolab salesperson, so just getting one's hands on the product and even the dispenser won't do one much good.

Of the "pro" line of detergents, am liking P&G's Tide line. Makes very little suds, very concentrated and rinses clean. Better, IMHO than TideHE. Scent is rather powerful in the box,and while laundry is wet, but after drying and airing a bit seems to go away.
