Hi, I would like to share with you this old small italian top loading washer made in 1974.
First of all I would like to say thanks to my friend Riccardo for giving me this machine. It was defenatly not used much because it's in perfect shape. I've installed this machine at my grandmother's place, replacing the SIEMENS bought in 1990.

This little machine washes really very good. It has two cycles, regular (heavy) cycles and delicate cycles.
Program #1, warm BIO prewash in high water level (40*C) and hot (95*C) wash.
#2, cold prewash in normal water level and hot (95*C) wash.
#3, wash in hot water, than at the end a cool down and 5 rinces, with a spin at second rince cycle.
Program #9, delicate BIO prewash (40*C) and very warm (60*) wash, 3 rinces, no spin (rinse and hold).
#10, delicate wash in hot water (60*C), 3 rinces, no spin.
#11, delicate wash in warm (40*C) water, same as above.
#12, wool cycle
If the red button is pressed (programs 9,10,11,12) you achieve a more vigorous washing action (like that in the normal cycle)

Hi Nathan, the clear water hose was damaged, but it goes in the hidden hole at the right side near the drain hose.

Nice machine, congrats Ingemar !

Wooow, it looks like brand new !!

@ Nathan : the fill hose is connected to a tap just over the wall drain in the first pic. This system (separate wall drain and separate tap) is very common here in EU. Even portable machines have their own tap, sink tap adaptors disappeared within the twin tub age.

@ Thomas : it is a 42 cubic decimetres (4.5 kg) drum machine, just the same as taller toploaders.
The control panel is well shown in pic 3 ; this machine has a cottons/heavy duty cycle (from position 1 to 8 on the dial) and a delicate cycle (9 to 14, in orange) Numbers are visible in the small circle on the dial left while turning it

Dial positions chart

@ Ingemar : as every typical italian washer, here is the usual mystery icon for the orange push button. It could be a dress shirt with a big stain ... or a dress shirt with a no-spin icon on it . What does the REX do with the button pressed ???

sorry Ingemar

was off line while typing .. thank 4 the answer about the button

By the way, I' m very curious about the inside of Gorenje dishwashers. Have you got any pics ?

:)) thank you Favorit, indeed it's like brand new, it's incredible :)
It seems like you know very well this machine. You are absolutely right about the programs and the rest. This REX has a icon on the orange button with the T-shirt and a big stain on it, so if this button is pressed you achieve a regular (energic) washing action in the delicate cycles.

At the moment I don't have pictures of gorenje's dishwashers, but I can tell you that some gorenje dishwashers are made by BOSCH, some old models by the italian SMEG (and Gorenje make dryers for SMEG) Now I have saw that a model is made even in Spain. For the washing machines and dryers (and other major appliances) it's not so, they are still made in Slovenia.
If you want I can make some pictures.
But I can send a picture of an old gorenje washer we are going to restore. (me and my friend Riccardo)

was this a model for italian market ? I can read "centrifuga" over the black button.

Doesn't Gorenje even make fridges for Smeg ? Thinkin about those pastel, 50ish-lookin ones.

Here's the Union Fridge ;-)
