He was truly evil in "Braveheart".
I also remember "The Prisoner". I remember watching it in B&W in the late sixties, and being rather mystified by all the goings on. But the antiseptic little village where he was imprisoned was imprinted on my mind, and I developed a real distrust for similar sorts of squeaky clean, well regulated, conservative, boring communities. Unfortunately my first college campus seemed to be a Village wannabee ;-).
A few years ago I splurged and got the entire series on DVD. But I find it difficult to get used to the full color - it helps to adjust the set to display just black and white, the way I remember it. There is a nightmarish quality to the series that just seems to fit B&W better.
