I finally got the Ritemp wringer washer from Preston. It came from an old ladies house , she had bought the machine in 1953 and they gave me the original guarantee.
I think she must have smoked 100 bensons a day as the entire house was dripping nicotine.
Unfortunately I can't upload photos from my iPad , don't know why , so hopefully Ozzie will add them to this thread.
As you will see there is a tap drain just below the level of the wash tub which I presumed was how the tub was emptied but for some strange reason the water drains from the tub into a permanently spinning pump and then pushes it against a closed tap, the idea then is to open the tap into a bucket so I am a bit mistified why it has a pump at all.
Unfortunately the pump is totally seized up but as soon as the machine is cleaned up a bit and once again operational I will put it on YouTube .
Thanks in advance to Ozzie for uploading photos.

Nice Machine!!

Can't be sure after all these years, but I think that may be the model my mother had when I was very young. It just looks 'strangely familiar', as does the green enamel inside the tub... She got rid of it when I was about five.... Probably worried that by then I was getting tall enough to reach the wringer. For most of my childhood and youth she had a Hotpoint Twin-tub....

All best

Hi Lance.

Well thats something a bit different and see what you mean about the staining.
We have a Hoovermatic that was caked in nicotine stains and stank!

Fingers crossed that with some elbow grease, you can get the yuckiness off and make her look gret again.
