rollermatic #6 getting ready for a tuneup

the pink one was

white till i sprayed the body. did not want to mess with the top so i left it white. i think it looks good that way.

and that is a shot of what used to my living room where furniture and a tv and a computer once were! now that wall or aisle as it is has 4 rollermatics, the pink, one white and 2 turquoise.

opposite wall has a maytag 606h and another rollermatic being rebuilt now. and one of my bendix's. and on the other wall is a 1-18 that i use frequently. final wall has a futon for my dog duke to lay on and supervise my work!

have not done a thread on the pink machine yet, it's a deluxe model from new orleans. owner gave it to me and i had jim the trucker ship it last year. it's all rebuilt and runs great! new set of clutch linings in it is all that needed replaced. i did strip it down completely and painted and rust proofed tub area.

when i get all done i will do a thread on the whole room, sometime next year. here's a pic of the pink one's control panel. i love the simplicity of the bol models too!

it does have the little bendix to keep it company.

paul, i see your's has seperate controls for the water too as you stated above. that's a 63? guess they started phasing that design out as the 60's went on.

There it is--your Normal/Small on the main dial

I've seen this in other brands, where you have to advance the dial after the fill for less than maximum wash time, but not on Frigidaires--how cool. And never would have guessed that the white- on -pink was not original. It's really neat looking. Here's a dial similar to yours: you have to advance if you want less than fifteen minutes, and although the load size isn't marked, you can move it to the second fill dot for a small load. Thank you for the close-ups.

I think you asked about the small load/ normal load timer increments. On Multis and Rollers it's 30 seconds and 60 seconds, respectively.

Peter, the Deluxe models do not have a water level knob. Yes, you set the water level on the timer for small or full load sizes when you start the machine. However, there is no difference in the rinse fill-it's always full water level fill. That's not the case on machines with the load selector knob. The timer advances at quicker increments all through out the cycle, including the rinse fill. Downside to this feature is the overflow rinses are minimal. Especiallly obn the wash cycle overflow rinse.
