"Rosie strikes me as being somewhat of a blow-hard, but seems to have integrity."
That is a VERY good description of Rosie (she would actually approve of that!)
Only had contact with her once, in a very darkened club. She lives with her family not far from me, in Nyack.
I've attended possibly half a dozen functions where she was in attendance.
She is probably one of the FEW current "celeb" type who looks out for her people....constantly, and without regard to rank and status. This is VERY unusual here these days....she is brash and outspoken but has a very warm, caring side, which I am told she reserves chiefly for her family and her close friends at home.
I've heard she is extremely loyal and honest. Again, this seems so unusual these days that people actually remark upon those attributes!
Trump actually hit his stride business-wise many years ago...now he has to devote his life to keeping up, which his ego will not allow him to forsake (but in fairness, isn't that true of so many of us?....)
And it's not just him. I had similar complaints regarding Gates and Iacocca. They write books attempting to justify their business ethics and attempt to target their ideologies to everyday working folks who are totally on the periphery of that realm, who then apply them, and meet with horrifying results....ruined businesses, bankruptcy, gambling, divorce.
Folks on the margins don't have the wiggle room to live their lives like the big players...all that is of value is wasted.
