I bought this NOS rotisserie and shish-kebab accessory for a Jenn-Air range top when we first moved into the house in Ogden. I never got to use it because the Jenn-Air cooktop we had did not have holes in the pan underneath the heating element to permit the rotisserie bracket to be attached...

I'll guess that this goes on pre-1987 Jenn-Air units (That's what we had).

I was hoping to get $15 for this, bearing in mind that shipping from Canada might be a bit pricey. OR if anyone wants to come up to Ogden and visit, that's fine, too! LOL

If I still had a Jenn-Air range, this would be a fun accessory to have. That would make for quite a show for guests, seeing your roast or kebabs spinning out in the open.

Cleanup would be less fun, based on what I remember about my Jenn-Air, but such is often the price for entertainment.

Mine has never been out of the box. I bought this, and the electric griddle. I use the grill almost every day and the griddle on occasion but never used the rotisserie. To be honest I never wanted to have to clean the darn thing afterwards. The grill is bad enough to clean. I always figured this thing on top of the grill would be a real mess!

I also have some Jenn-Air experience under my belt, and everyone's right - they're no fun to clean.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have one - if I could find the "Anywhere Jenn-Air," meaning the Jenn-Air with the optional electrostatic air-cleaning base. The base meant you could put a Jenn-Air in places where ducting to the outdoors wasn't an option; it sucked grease and fumes down into an electrostatic assembly that attracted and zapped all the nasties. The electrostatic assembly pulled out and fit into the dishwasher for cleaning. It was quite a nice setup; a friend had one and I always envied him about it.
 
Jann-Air Duct Free Kit

When I bought my cooktop I bought what they called a "Duct Free Kit" similar to what you described except that mine was some kind of disposable HEPA type filter. It had a meter on it that told you when it was time to replace it. I didn't know they offered a washable one. That would be even better. I didn't see that offered on their website.

I had expected to have to use the filter but found someone who was willing to bust a hole through the outside brick wall where the cooktop is located so I went that route. I read a lot of mixed reviews on the inside filter and when that option presented itself I chose that route.

Ironically, it has been sitting in the box on a shelf in my garage for quite some time. Just a couple of months ago I put it on eBay and sold it. These do pop up on eBay from time to time. I don't know if Jenn-Air still sells them or not. I have tried to find it a couple of times on their site and didn't see them. I wonder if any other manufacturer makes them.

Could your friends setup have been from another manufacturer? The link is to the filter that mine used.

 
Jenn-Air Duct-Free Range

As some of you remember we have the Electrostatic filter Jenn-Air range at the Museum, our cook used it to grill all sorts of food at the 2010 Wash-In, we even converted it to the proper 208 grille elements. This range will have a permanent place in the Micro-Range kitchen of the future at the museum which will be dedicated to Terry Latz and  Kelly [ Mix finder ].

they made one like this. When did they discontinue? I may have considered that one in favor of busting holes in the wall for the vent. I use that grill so much I was afraid I'd burn through those filters like crazy and at $50 a pop that wasn't cheap.

In the long run I am probably better off that it vents outside but that's $400 in labor I could have put towards another fabulous Vintage Kitchen Aid dishwasher. :)
 
Jenn-Air Duct-Free Ranges

Were made in the early 1980s into the mid 80s, I only ever saw about three of them, they were expensive and required a certain level of mechanical smarts to remove the electrostatic filter for cleaning in the DW. Which is really why people did not even use the grille part of JA cook-tops, most people are just to intimidated to dissemble and clean things, LOL.

 

You are really better off with one that is ducted outside, but I am going to use duct-free one we have in the warehouse as it is a 4000 SF building with 22 foot high ceilings so it will work fairly well, but in a regular kitchen it still puts out a lot of heat.
 
Paul, if it's still available, I might want to buy it from you! I'll give it to a friend who has an older Jenn-Air range.
