Rough 1962 Kenmore but good for some parts

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Congrats on nabbing the dryer and making the match! I don't know what it is about these particular models, but I love them. It would be great to see a money shot of the washer. It is always great to have memories attached like the one you have of your neighbor. Interesting how your neighbor's method was to wait until agitation before adding anything. I guess that is how most did it with wringers or old tubs. With us, we added the detergent, and then the clothes as it was filling. Same was for everyone else who had Kenmore or Whirlpool. Either that or add everything before filling the washer. I alwsys preferred adding everything after beginning the fill. It made doing laundry more of an event.

Have a good one,
James

Get Set you aquired there, I just love the control panels on those machines. I remember the set my mom had that was just like the set Gordon has. Very similar. Glad you got the match to it. Good Luck with it as I hope it all works out ok and you have them up and running.

Wow, so cool. Get to see the exact same LK dishwasher and dryer my aunt had in her house when I as growing up all in a few threads from each other.

Mom's washer

That Kenmore is EXACTLY Moms' washer from my infancy. I'm a spring of 59 child, earliest washer memory is in a house we lived in from summer of 63 to 68 with that machine---and I specifically remember learning that C meant cold, h meant hot, I was just learning the alphabet.Of course the tub and innards are incredibly similar to my own 1960 whirlpool, but you have mom's exact machine, so I'll keep looking for pictures from you!
