Great, well built machines, Royals are! The old ones don't clean worth 2 cents, but the newer ones with the double brushes and stiffeners work wonderfully. I just found a nice 996 in mint condition. I have a ~25 year old commercial one too, cleans poorly.

The old royals don't clean?I have one and it works great-outperforms most 12A "clean air" machines built today-Is yours clogged,the belt worn,roller brush worn? some things to check-must be something wrong-I am AMAZED at how well those oldies clean with the small motors.
