This one will take some serious elbow grease to say the least, but it's a genuine RR-2 and those don't come up very often. Located in Watsonville, CA. Free for the taking but you have to move fast. Email me for contact info.... -Cory

The RR-1's and 2's don't have any plexiglass on either side of the filter screen which can make cleanup a bit of a bear which is likely what happened here (and got way out of control). It does come with a tray.

How many RR-2's do we have in the club?

Jon Charles has one - and I cleaned that door to within an inch of it's life last summer!  Not so bad really, just spray and soak...

I love being more intimate with the cooking food - the microwaves are too fat to get through the screen but the steam and smells waft over you, best microwave oven - ever!

So all that was between you and the radiation was a metal screen? I guess the plexiglas was added as a false sense of security. I'd be terrified to use that microwave.

The metal screen is an RF sheild-no fear-been staring into transmitters-FM,TV that have the same sort of veiwing windows to see the tubes and other parts for years-no problems. The screen blocks the microwave energy. This sort of sheild has been used for decades. You probably wouldn't like very early amateur VHF radio transmitters that were entirely OPEN-no cabinet or sheilds-and the operator sitting right at it.Hazards-the HV on the tubes, and the RF.
