I have a friend that has an upright freezer that has been in a non heated storeroom for many years. It has developed rust on the top & sides. What procedure should he do to get rid of the rust. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I'm a big fan of Rustoleum too.

Not sure if the Rustoleum we have in Australia is the same as the USA product, but I think it is.

It is VERY good paint - doesn't sag, run, wrinkle. (if your technique is OK.) Gives a good solid coverage. Flattens out to a nice even glossy finish - even if it goes on a bit spotty, the high spots "relax" down to a nice even finish. It is the best spray can paint I have used.

I resprayed our ride on mower with it a few years ago, it has stood up well to punishment. One area I spilt some petrol (gasoline) on it when the paint was only a week old, it wrinkled up unfortunately. I will eventually sand and repaint but it is well down my list...

Rust?

John,

If the fridge or freezer is rusting, and we shouldn't paint the edge where the door seal touches, how should we treat it to prevent it from rusting?

Thanks,
Sarah
