This is the GE range that Mark (Kenmore71) posted a while back as being for free, it was located in West Bend, WI.
When I saw the post I immediately got in touch with the "seller" to stake my claim. It turned out that the range had been purchased by his aunt on 2/16/72 and he acquired the stove when his aunt gave up housekeeping and he and his wife acquired his aunt's home. He (Paul) told me that they used the range daily and even took it with them when they relocated to West Bend several years ago, and continued to use it until just recently.
The range is nothing fancy - no P7 oven - but I love the styling, the color, and the fluorescent worklight. My late maternal grandmother, Canzada (Sadie), bought the P7 version of this range in 1972 and I always loved how it looked. When she gave up housekeeping to move in with her youngest daughter, I wanted to "save" the range, but alas, had no reason to buy it, no place to store it, and no way to use it. So it was sold with the house.
Sadie is now happy in her own retirement, glad to be in the warm Gulf Coast and free from those bitterly cold Wisconsin winters, and glad that for the most part all she has to do is prepare coffee in the morning and occasionally heat a pizza. For a 43-year-old she cleaned up very well.
