Hey all! Anyone have an opinion on Saladmaster cookware. I realize that is is EXPENSIVE but is it worth the extra expense? I have really looked at many different cookware lines, including "professional" lines and I felt none were comparable. Thanks in advance!!

Saladmaster turns up on eBay pretty regularly. The prices are high for secondhand, but still cheaper than buying it new. I've occasionally run across it in larger thrift stores.

Is that the cookware with the "oil filling"? Sorry, but at those prices, it can't be anything other than a ripoff.

A decent cook could make a gourmet meal with crappyass cookware (though it's hard.) Expensive cookware isn't going to make you a better cook.

veg, who's apparently a little grumpy tonight

Hey Grumpy Veg..haha....yeah the electric skillet has an oil core ..I have my grandmother's and use this thing all the time. The other cookware from Saladmaster is HEAVY and waterless....I was just wondering if anyone uses the cookware..I am thinking about some pieces from this line. It is expensive but from my research I can not find anything that is really comparable..some things that look and somewhat feel as sturdy but not really.

My sister-in-law has it and has been using it for over 30 years and likes it. I personally have Cuisinart for aroung 18 years an like it. I would like to eventually replace it with All-Clad Master Chef stainless. I think this cookware is excellent and might be less expensinve than Saladmaster.

Thanks Ray...that is what I suspect..this stuff lasts forever..I have some other pieces of heavy duty /professional cookware..I can not find anything this heavy or well made in any other line.
