I finally got to see these machines this afternoon at my local retail store. Man they are impressive. Appear to be better built than I originally thought they would be. I could shift the innards back and forth horizontally, but I couldn't move them vertically at all. Perhaps the shipping materials were still intact, but I wouldn't have expected to be able to move the tub at all if that were the case.

I sure hope they beefed up the suspension in that thing to account for its size.
They are very impressive in person. Have a look if when you get the chance...

I saw them at Lowes and was pretty impressed as well. But man are they huge in capacity. But the cabinet is a tad large too at 30 inches. 5 cu ft for the washer and 9 something cu ft for the dryer. One thing I did like was the fact that the washer wasn't uber deep. I can barely reach the bottom of an LG top loader especially the one with the front controls. In August CU will be reporting on washers, dryers and detergents so we will see how or if they rate them. But lately I take what they say with a grain of salt.

Price Point

The price point is much lower than anticipated as well. Makes them an interesting option to a FL machine.

I admit, I'd like to see one of these machines in action. The agitator looks larger than usual, but the ribs on the washplate didn't seem very deep to me, so I'm kind of curious how it would agitate the load.

I did notice that the tub moves back and forth very easily, so I'd be a little concerned about how they'd handle a high speed spin when fully loaded.

I do admit that they seem quite cavernous in comparison to every other top loader I've seen out there. They sell for about $1200 up here, which kind of ruins their appeal over a front loader, price-wise. At least IMHO.
