Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Nothing more than a gimmick and is more to do with marketing as well and to convince those people who always need some new every few years because “mY wAsHeR iS oLd AnD OuTdAtEd, AnD dOeSn’T hAvE tHe LaTeSt TeChNoLoGy sO mY cLoThEs wOn’t GeT cLeAnEd”.

If You want BubbleStorm[TM] then get a old school Whirlpool belt drive washer, Speed Queen solid tub washer, or GM Frigidaire solid tub washer and you’ll have BubbleStorm[TM] along with WaterPower[TM] as well.

Something Different

The BubbleStorm [TM] feature doesn't grab me with the "WOW" factor - it is not a new concept that water dissolves detergent, whether powder or liquid.

However, I do like it that the machine has a lint filter that can be manually removed and cleaned. Self-cleaning filters are certainly convenient, but it is easy to clog a drain with wash water laden with pet hair or heavy amounts of lint. True, the mesh filters that can be put over a drain hose help when draining into a sink, but this is not always easy to do when a machine empties directly into a drain pipe.

My sister used to have a Samsung FRONT loader with "bubble wash." In a front loader you want to minimize foaming, its presence cushions the clothes from being properly tumbled. If you switched off the bubble wash function, it had a stupidly long wash time.

A victory of marketing BS over common sense.

After its drum spider failed, it was replaced by an LG which is much better. (The LG was rescued from a dumpster by yours truly.)
