Dear fellow members - my brother in law's Samsung Front loader is currently giving him some trouble. From what I can assess from him is it gives one or two turns during the washing cycle and then just won't continue any further, however of you only want to spin the clothes it quickly proceeds to spin.

They are in a bit of a pinch so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Might it be a slipping belt? This is often worse in wash than spin - during wash, the motor turns slower and the washing is full of water, so very heavy, making it more likely to slip. In spin, the motor turns much faster, so slipping is less obvious.

We need more info, but this is one thing to check.

Well according to the workshop it was the drain pump. I don't really understand that a drain pump can cancel the wash cycle after about two turns. Perhaps it senses that the pump is faulty. What is strange though, was that the machine did not stop during the spin cycle. I don't know whether the workshop is taken them for a ride, only time will tell.

What is concerning though is that this machine is about three years old and it is only him and his wife, so not that much washing to do. But there you go.

Regards
