Samsung washers!!!
Hi. I own a Samsung FL washer 2 models before the ones selling at the moment and has been the best front loader I´ve ever owned. The silver wash has been the best option a washer can have. You really don´t need hot water to get your clothes amazingly clean. Its capacity is another feature it makes me crazy. I handles king size conforters as if it was a pair of sheets. It spins so good that a big towel load just take about 40 min to dry in the dryer using med-high temperature. It´s the best washer ever. I raised a little the water level and now it performs wonderful. I hope this information is useful.

Thanks for the posting I appreciate the information I have owned 2 front loaders before the Oasis and they were junk they were both Kenmores the first one was by Frigidare it washed really well but was cheaply made and the second was a Whirlpool and it leaked the whole time that I had it and got that odor and I did everything that I could to get rid of it with no luck.If I had the space I would have different washers but I do not for now so this is what I want a washer that will not break down and one that will get the clothes clean the first time so that we can go out of the house with clean clothes on and not put something on and then have to change because it is not clean.How does it handle mixed loads does it go out of balance easy? Hi. My washer handles everything perfectly. I usually do about 10 or 12 loads a week with all types of different clothes. Loads are always mixed and they get extremely well washed, excellent rinsed and come out almost dried. I can´t say it goes off balance with ease, but it sometimes does, and if you allow the cycle to run it will fill again and then drain until it gets the load balanced. Because I don´t like wasting water, when it goes off balance I always stop it and move clothes myself and then restart the cycle. I usually wash while I´m at home. Washing clothes is not a big deal with the balance problem but towel loads are the ones I sometimes have issues with. Beside that I can still say it´s the best washer compared to anyone. So quiet that you can wash with so confident at late hours. Uses a little water as 6 buckets of 12 lt for the whole cycle. It has 2 preset rinses which can´t be modified. The Sanitary Cycle has been the most amazing thing for stain removal. You don´t need to scrub, no extra treatment liquids, no chlorine for whites. I just throw all the whites in, select sanitary Cycle, with prewash, heavy soil and extra time, extra hot, max spin speed and silver wash, regular ammount of detergent and a measured spoon of Special Vanish powder for whites. I do all this settings since I work as a Medical Doctor at a hospital, to get sure no viruses or bacteria transmit to my family, instead of soaking for a night on hot water, chlorine, then throwing it away and filling with new water and everything. It spends 2:38 hours which is not a problem for me or my family cause we are never rushing for clothesand I really enjoy watching it for this long time. BTW, just imagine how white sock end, with 2 kids that just use shoes for going out, but inside the house they never use shoes, and we have 2 dogs and cats, and even though cleaning every day, floor keeps a little bit dirty. I can assure you sock get in almost black and come out extremely white.
I´m sorry for my long writting but I don´t know how to explain myself with shorter writting.

Samsung built washer
I have the Samsung built Maytag Neptunes. If I knew then what I know now I would never have bought them. The washer's bearings are going and so is the control board. The dryer rollers are getting worn out and the dryer rumbles as it dries. One thing the dryer does do thats surprsing is that the sensor system does not work full time. Its only on at the beginning of the cycle to figure out how long it needs to dry and at the 6 min mark to determine if the load is dry. if not it will add 25 mins and then overdry the load.
The washer has the fish shaped paddles that dont shower the load and if I wash a rather large load the grooves and ridges are rather harsh on clothes. And this washer is horrible at rinsing even with the Extra Rinse feature on. Balancing is a whole other story. It can spend up to half an hour just to get the load just right to spin and even then it wont ramp up to full speed. Do I hate this washer...you betcha I do. And its leaking and I am getting a code of TE from time to time. The washer has been recalled and Maytag sent me the remedy...a ground fault device the I plug into the outlet and then plug the washer into it. It has tripped a few times.
The next washer I get will be a toploader and it will be Speed Queen.

Maytag Neptune FL!!!
nmassman I really feel sorry for the opinion abput your laundry set. Let me tell you that before buying Samsung I was about to buy the Neptune FL (Front control panel and huge glass door) with the fishlike paddles but the model here in Mexico didn´t convince me 100%. I wanted to buy the Direct Drive (DD)one but they came a long time after I bought the Samsung and the only color available was silver and I wanted it in white since my laundry room and kitchen (beside laundry room) are all white. The one here was the MAH8700 (beltdriven) which I didn´t like because of the belt and pulley, (no internal heater, but I don´t remember exactly abput this feature) and because of the spin speed which was 200 RPM less than this one, if I remember ok. It didn´t have all the cycles I wanted and at the same time the Samsung washers arrived with amazing good introduction price and it was the DD, with silver wash and 1200 RPM spin, white color. What else do you think I could ask for. BTW, at the time I was about to buy my Samsung, Maytag have this big issue with the old Neptune FL and the new TL, and then sold the company to Whirlpool which I consider the best TL washer brand. I also own a Whirlpool Direct Drive Catalyst Cleaning Action washer and Senseon Dryer which have made me be in love with, since day one. After a little time, Neptune washers stopped selling and dissapear from Mexico. Now I´m really proud of myself about choosing Samsung brand for FL and Whirlpool for TL and dryer.
BTW, my Samsung bearings are still soundless even at high speed spin and work about 2 or 3 Extra hot temperature loads a week with industrial anti-grease cleaner liquid, and even that hasn´t worn the bearings. Excellent built machine. I guess the ones selling at the moment should be better only because of the VRT technology which I guess solves the unbalance issue. Steam cycles I really don´t believe are better than the sanitary one. I promise I will post some pictures of mine. I will search for someone who owns a VRT and Steam one and try it so I can talk about as well.

Model 448AA ($1500) is at the top of the ratings. It is supposed to have very little vibration, and so would be better at handling installation on a wood-framed floor. Nearly all the user reviews gave it a 5-star rating.

I have the Maytag/Samsung built MAH 8700 washer and the 9700 dryer. They were purchased in November of 2005. They will be 4 years old in November. Spin speed difference really doesnt matter much since this washer never and I mean never hits 1200. More like 800 rpms at the most and thats on Max Extract. Here is a pic of the machines.
