Hi All:

Courtesy - and I do mean courtesy - of Tim (polkanut), I have a nice, clear photo to share of the new GE range.

She is vacationing in Wausau until Fall, at which time she will gird her gorgeous loins for the grueling trek West, to reach her new home in Iowa.

I can't wait. Anyway, for all of you who have been so creative, supportive and appreciative - here is Her Royal Highness. Enjoy!

And once again, Tim: Many, many thanks!

It will slumber quietly with an old furniture throw covering it until it goes home to live in Waterloo.  Good night, and sweet dreams.

YAY! Congratulations, Sandy - it looks lovely! What a nice story about all the help you had getting it too - we have a really nice group of people here on automaticwasher.org.

Sure looks to be

in excellent condition...glad you found your Dream Machine Sandy... Bon Appetit!

Agreed with Paul, folks here are among the best among many car/appliance/audio sites that we go to regularly... the Packard folks are also stellar, I'd have to say.

The Ice Age Trail which runs east and south of Wausau is great for hiking as long as you have plenty of insect repellant.

GE Stoves are the bomb

I think you have acquired, what in my opinion is the best stove ever. They are even heating, with useable features, and the best self clean feature out there. The stove has a somewhat timeless look to it, and looks as nice as any new stove on the market.
Congratulations, and enjoy it.
Hugs,
David

D'oh!

I just this minute realized:

Those two darling little convenience outlets aren't just convenience outlets - one of them is almost certainly timed.

Which means a certain Farberware Superfast percolator is going to be starting itself soon, instead of requiring my help.

Yay!

Excellent Range

This was a very good period for GE P-7 ranges, they had a very fast pre-heating oven and it baked very evenly because of the great insulation required for SC temperatures and it even used the third front mullion element during baking to help offset the heat loss around the door opening.

While GE invented the modern SC oven [ and they worked great ] GM Frigidaire s 30" SC ovens still cleaned a little more completely, but with FD you are stuck with those less desirable Mono-Tube elements so overall I would take the GE range any day for cooking in my kitchen.

It will be interesting to see which of the three US factories that GE was building ranges in that this stove was assembled in, the model# tag has a letter on it in a circle that tells you.

One of the convenience outlets is timed and the other on full time, usally the one nearest the clock is the timed and it is usually labeled Timed or Auto.

Hopefully the oven and Sensi-Temp burner will work properly, if after you get this range home and it lives up to your expectations you may consider grabbing and extra heat relay and circuit board for the oven temperature control system to keep on hand, Good Luck.
