Hi everyone. I though I would share the pictures I have collected over the years of Sanyo washing machines. Please note I don't own any of the machines, I just collected the pictures from various advertisements.

Also I don't know an awful lot about the designs and mechanisms, so if you want to share please do.

Enjoy.

Hi Steve. The Whirlpool has a pulsator and enamel tub. My Aunt had this machine for over 30 years. It just went on and on.

The link shows a Sanyo version which from my research I don't think was sold here. It is exceedingly beautiful IMHO.

Very handsome looking machine

I agree with you Ash the Turbomatic is indeed a very handsome looking machine actually the two tone brown control panel reminds me of the Philips Gentle Care range which were around in the mid 1980's, I am pretty sure they were a similar brown colour and looked great,(and seeing as though they were in reality rebadged Hoovers they would have worked great too.).
The turbomatic pulsator reminds me of the F&P Aquasmart with it's almost half sized agitator.
Thanks for sharing these with us.
Regards.
Steve.

Here is my General electric badged Sanyo. It makes a great deal of noise upon spin. Bearings issues.

A fun little machine.

21.5 inches / 55cm wide and deep
32 & 35 inches tall (81cm & 89cm)

No more wire hangers!

Rear view.

GE had them build it with a cold --AND A HOT-- fill, unlike Japanese machines. Also has a water-temperature selection knob, and a water-level control.

Timer was "Americanized" for the standard three cycles(programmes): Normal, Permanent Ppess and Gentle.

The Japanese verison tens to have "Normal" (with two deep rinses). "Economy" (with one deep rinse) and a manual cycle of "Wash" or maybe "Soak" only.

GE COMPACT WASHER

These are fun little machines I have had many over the years and worked on hundreds of them for others. First these are not made by Sanyo they look similar, but the GEs and HPs sold in the US are Hitachi built nothing is interchangeable with Sanyo machines. The first GEs had porcelain inner and outer tubs, the second generation like you have Steve had a plastic outer tub and a porcelain inner tub and the last GEs had plastic inner & outer tubs.
