You`re right Colgate`s German FS is called "Softlan"
I`ve googled "Final Touch" and found out that it used to be a Unilever product before they sold the brand so I assume it is compareable with Snuggle, Kuschelweich and Comfort.
The absence of any residue in your sink and no build up on clothing can be explained with the presence of nonionic surfactants, which Unilever seems to favor along with the usual cationic surfactants in all their FS.
Let me guess, does Final Touch also leave towels more absorbant than others ? I guess it does.

All the Suavitels are LOUD. Hang out downwind of a laundromat that caters to Hispanic familes, it's like getting gassed with the stuff!

Moderation is the key. While Suavitel is LOUD in the fragrance department, it is also a very strong softener -- stronger than Downy I believe. 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended amount is all that is needed to get good softening and a light scent -- in a toploader! Use even less in a front.

Peter:

You are so right. The regular Sauvitel we used was pretty nice, it was just the right amount of smell. But the ultra sucks.
In the meantime I tried to give the remainder of the bottle to the cat lady across the street. When she saw the bottle she said to throw it away, she used the same stuff a few weeks ago and her and her husband woke up with runny noses and red skin in the middle of the night from the stuff.
I also noticed that all Walmart carries now is the Sauvitel Ultra. I didn't see any of the regular stuff there on the shelf.

theres another suavitel thats worth trying (for those who like it) its called "suavitel sin enjague" it means without rinse. All it really does is cut back rinse residue and believe me it lives up to the claim its a turquiose colored bottle i'll try to upload a pic its worth trying and the scent well at least to me isnt as overbearing as the others.

;) Vintagesearch

PS my mother picked it up at our local keyfood supermarket.

I think "sin enjuague" is basically the blue flavor with their version of marketing hype on the lable. I think it goes something like: "If you use Suavitel, you only have to rinse once because this s**t is so strong it kills the suds and makes you think all the soap is rinsed out the first time around." They came out with this version shortly after Mexican Downy put similar text on their bottles.

Softly Suavitel

They've really been pushing the Suavitel Ultra in our HEB stores lately. I have always felt that "ultra" anything is a waste of money because I continue to use the same amount anyway. I am perfectly content with the regular strength Suavitel, particularly in the blue and yellow bottles. I know the scents seem rather "loud", but they impart a nice smell to items pulled out of the dryer.

I think I saw some new fragrances (like a Lavender-type)last week. They may just be in the Ultra version, so I'll check it out.

Something I haven't seen in awhile...Snuggle Mandarin and Green Tea. Now that's a scent!! It's very delicate and leaves clothes smelling fresh. It was only available in small bottles at the King Dollar Store. It's the only Snuggle I can use. The others give me a rash! OY!!
