Scored a 70's Maytag in Harvest Gold today

Only gave ten dollars for it - pretty good deal I'd say. I don't know if it works, and it will be quite a while before I do. I don't have a gas hookup. Do we know what year it was made? I'm pretty new to washers and dryers.

I plugged it in last night, and the motor started right up. I'll clean it up today and post some more pictures.

a 1968 model for many years until it finally went two years ago and I got a brand new speed queen.

Did some more investigating on the dryer today, and I found that somebody taped a ball bearing over the door switch. It doesn't turn on without it with the door closed. Also, a picture of the nasty mess behind the lint filter.

That simple door switch can be a real pain to replace.
