searching for dishwasher

Hi guys, my parents and I are on the hunt for a new dishwasher. We're looking for something that's not over $750, $800 @ the VERY most, cleans well, has a super-big capacity, and is very quiet (our kitchen, living room, and dining room are essentially the same room). My mom really likes the 3rd cutlery rack found on the Miele and upper-end LG machines - does anyone else offer this on a less-expensive model?

Anyhoo, any input would be welcome! I did find a MOL LG @ Sears last night for around $750 that looked really nice, but I'm confused as to why there aren't any holes closer to the center of the lower spray arm; how are things supposed to get clean there?

For those interested, we're replacing an older Maytag reverse-rack dishwasher (model # - WU704) that has performed really well over the years, but has progressively gotten louder and constantly gets clogged spray arms.

We purchased a Maytag tall tub (Quiet Series 300) last November and we have been very happy with it.
It's has an SS exterior, it was one of the last of the original Maytag Jet Clean products, not a reworked Whirlpool with a Maytag badge on it. It's very quiet and can hold 14 place settings at a time. It has three water wands and cleans everthing from top to bottom. The top rack is adjustable and you can even fit in those Tupperware tall containers up there with ease.
We had an earlier Maytag from 1993 in another house we had and it too worked fantastically and was very reliable, in fact we never had a repair on it at all!

clogged spray arms

you might want to take the lower spray arm and tower off, then the cover off the power module, and check the micro-mesh filter found underneath, usualy a good cleaning takes care of the issue of the jets clogging up. if there is a hole in the mesh, that can cause the same problem. I believe you can still get the mesh filter. Well worth looking into and giving it a shot.

Yep, Bendixbubba is correct. When the mesh filter plugs up, the pump struggles to draw in the sudsy water. This is especially true with really sudsy detergent. Just having the mesh filter 1/4 plugged makes a HUGE difference in noise, operation, and cleanliness.

I vote for bosch!

they are silent and do an incredible job. the seperate silverware rack is just too fussy for me.
