Sears COLDSPOT 30 Pint Dehumidifier

Saw this a few days ago. I did contact the seller and he doesn't have the manual. He states it works fine. Not many of these around anymore. I was thinking of offering $40. I need some options.

A friend of mine has that exact same one. (Although the label is a little more worn & not as clean cosmetically.) It's a great unit, and seems to really pull the moisture out of the air well. Not sure if it has an automatic shutoff or anything to stop it from overflowing.

For the nice looking piece it is, at least on the outside, I'd say $50 isn't bad. I'd definitey like a peek at the cover off just to make sure there's no surprises. but see if an offer of $40 would go. That doesn't sound unfair either.

We had that unit, bought new about '68 when I was a little kid.  I did an OK job but was noisy as hell.  the metal cabinet added to the vibration of the compressor.  It did a decent job, but was undersized for our basement.  It lasted well into the 90's so build quality was good.  Since then I've gone though half a dozen more.

 

I'd offer $20 and go up from there...
