When I had my front loader I used a half scoop to to 3/4 of a scoop, and with my top loader a scoop to a scoop and half. It's a great detergent for the price. I'm currently using Arm and Hammer powder with Oxy Clean, but when that's gone I'm going back to the Sears.

Andy, The Sears detergent used to come in 5 gallon and 2 gallon plastic buckets with lids. I wish it still did. It was very user friendly. I kept a 5 gallon and 2 gallon bucket that I pour my detergent in. For years I would use the empty 5 gallon buckets when I would wash my cars.

Recycle and Reuse
I agree the cardboard box is not user friendly. They go away from the plastic for "environmental reasons". I, however, liked to reuse the plastic pails in my garden. I would drill holes along the bottom and bury the pails between my tomato plants. Then I could fill the pails with water, fertalizer, etc and it would slowly feed the plants as the day went along.
No more wet plants, no more wilting in the middle of the day, and I was able to re-use. The pails would last about two seasons in the sun before they would crack and have to be replaced.

The Bucket
They should sell the bucket and then package a refill bag instead of the cardboard box. That would be a more environmental choice, IMO.
