First they cut ties with Whirlpool.

Then the traitors hopped in bed with LG.

Now LG is promoting their new "Signature" stand-alone brand.

I never thought I'd see the day when Sears would be selling anything branded as Signature.

That smarts!

Wards

never had ties with Whirlpool. Wards Signature appliances were never Whirlpool. They were made by Tappan and Norge. Wards was selling Admiral before Whirlpool acquired the name from Maytag. The ranges were made by Magic Chef in Cleveland Tenn. Wards may have sold a small number of Admiral branded Whirlpool washers and driers shorlty before closing.
The LG signature line is not sold exclusively at Sears.

Yogi,

um, I was the first to leave the nest, way back in late 1979.
Alr, the article is about Craftsman.
I just saw a commercial last night for a new top load Kenmore Elite washer/dryer pair made by Whirlpool.
They definately had the Whirlpool shape consoles.

Sears On The MONTGOMERY WARD-Path!!!!

--Anything Wards AND Sears is dead these days!

Just as there is nothing Menu Magic, Handy Craft or Power Craft (Montgomery Ward private brands, outside their Signature-line) there is a decreasing need to keep Kenmore, Die Hard and Craftsman around if there are continuing stories that Sears is folding... (And by-association, even K Mart...)

However, can a subsidiary buyout of LG really breath any kind of "new life" into anything?

No Dave.

LG has had it's own appliance issues.
Martin, the Sears tower is now the Willis tower. I've been up on the observation deck. The building was designed with set back upper floors and split elevator shafts.

This all just makes me so sad. I supposed I shouldn't care, but I have a soft spot for Sears. I actually went there a couple a weeks ago to buy an LED worklight. I had 4 people say hello to me and one of the associates in the tools dept helped me pick out a light. I was so impressed by that. I go to Target and sometimes I get a hello. I bought 3 lights in the end LOL. I really hope things turn around for them.

Seems like a lot of people want to see them go under...I'm not sure why. That's thousands of workers out of jobs. Been there, done that. It's no fun.

"I don't get it"?

Nor do I really care. You are all fun in any case.
I hear you Joey! I used to roll with the punches, now I just dodge em.
When I'm out of Pirin tablets, I down a few effitol with a glass of seltzer water.
It takes the edge off, and is much easier on my brain and organs than Prozac, etc.
