Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Cool appliances... my house had coppertone GE appliances but the only remaining original appliance is the cooktop with range hood (with burner controls in the range hood). I also remember that model phone well... my grandmother's apartment complex had these phones. They were cool because they were recessed in the wall, and had a retractable cord. Unfortunately, those were probably their weakness; when the retractable cord (or other functions) failed or the phone was to be updated, you had a big whole in the wall! I managed to rescue hers out of the apartment, but there is no model number anywhere on it.

is the dishwasher a Lady Kenmore or ...

is it a Waste King?  The buttons and control panel look like the ones in a Waste King brochure someone was kind enough to scan and post a while back.

No I'm pretty sure its a mid 60's Lady Kenmore dishwasher like mine...

Aha,

I knew a well informed member would figure it out.

Thanks Patrick!

OH WHY!!!

Does the good stuff have to always be a zillion miles away!!LOL...I always loved Kenmore appliances, even if the ovens heat with only the bottom element.

Wow!

What a beautiful looking kitchen. It looks modern, but has tastes of yesteryear all around (Coppertone appliances, new looking wooden cabinets). What a joy it would be to live in this house.

Only trouble is, would I be faced with a rusted out dishwasher?

My apt in Bleak House, the high rise in Silver Spring had that phone in the kitchen. The little switch was to select whether or not the front desk took a message for you. I discovered that a light was burned out somewhere so the front desk could not know whether or not I wanted them to pick up.

I've never seen the lower oven with a window. They must have been using a magnifier in the catalog to find every last option.

Oh yeah, my alligator phone is much later (as in modular) and doesn't have the retractable cord.  It also has the more modern "K" series handset, which doesn't have the screw-on caps covering receiver and transmitter like the "G" series handset on the phone pictured.
