Yesturday I went to sears and picked up a catalog on their new stuff for current July 2011. As with most of you I think a lot of stuff is a waste of money but this is what we are stuck with so lets see if we can find some positive outlooks with mostly negatives.

Personally I dont see the advantage to the turbozone - can anyone comment.
And pressurized spray I dont believe is that pressurized. Also each arm works one at a time like frigidaire to save water. I am not against that - but taking to long to run is not my cup of tea!

Lets do washers / dryers
This are very expensive and have features that most people will never use.
Being water usage is so little they are rough on clothes!

I have seen the samsung front load in action and I do like them in tearms of handeling a load going right into a spin and not wasting time like LG!

These dryers are a waste of money - I can agree having Steam in a dryer is a good thing but most of these other features are not necessary. So costly for nothing!

Thanks, Pete.  Their new line is very shiny and impressive looking.  I was in Sears just this morning and I was surprised to see how plain and boring the white-goods department has become at this store, and the other West O store a few weeks ago.  Looks like they just lined up the appliances back to back in aisles and walked away.  Very few signs or displays to speak of, what there was just said "laundry" or Kenmore and most of the short-wall dividers between the aisles are gone.  Perhaps they are readying for a re-do of those fixtures but given the state of the financial reports from Sears and Kmart, maybe they're paring down for the going out of business sale.

Other than a few top-load WP made machines, I should have counted them, it was pretty disheartening to see the massive Asian influence in the high-end Kenmore laundry, they really have kicked and beaten poor Lady Kenmore and buried her in a shallow grave!

What amazes me is that a dishwasher at 52db is marked "quiet"!
To my knowledge the noisiest machine you can buy here today is rated at 51db and it would be super noisy!

"Quiet" here would start at 45db, no more and most higher end machines go down to 39db like some SMEG or Miele. Why is that that American machines are far noisier?

And I for one think it will come back to haunt them! guess Lady Kenmore will have to learn a new language now. very very dishearting to me.

well me i have a kenmore elite dishwasher that dates since the kitchen was redone in 2005 so its very quiet for a dishwasher and was for washers the best and most quiets of washer i have know so far was my 1993 inglis superb 2 washer as sometime when i was sleeping my to load washer would work and i would not notice its working.

display cycle time

Model #13252, available in Septemberr, MAY have some sort of digital display feedback for cycle length.  The comparable Kitchenaid has a series of bars that equal to bout 16 or 24 minutes. Sears did away with cycle countdown in like the 2nd or 3rd generation of tall tubs.  Customers supposedly said it was a nuisance or a feature they dind't care about.

Time Display!

It was disappointing to me they did away with the digital display. It was at the end of the 2nd series of TT machines that they removed them like Bob said. But I don't believe it was a consumer preference. I did buy the TT kenmore 10 years ago when I redone my kitchen. It only lasted a year and a half. It had the digital display and the electronic board burnt out twice. I fought with sears to get them to change it for a TT GE that I am happy with. However I am sorry I got rid of my power clean whirlpool. Nothing can outwash that one. All these appliance companies have made so many steps backwards in the last several years. It is really ashame!
