Sears Orange Box?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That is odd

The "Do-it" brand is a private label for HWI hardware stores. Although it is on Sears website, is says it's sold by BIC Warehouse. Don't know what's up with that.
Bought some in the orange box a couple months ago in the store, but haven't looked since then.

Do-It seems a little expensive...18 loads for 12.54

Sears seems a lot better deal....unsure if discontinued but still available here in South Jersey....maybe until supply runs out....

Eric, also check their Outlet stores and the Hardware/Appliance only stores...thats where I still found them in the 5 gallon bucket which is discontinued

Sudsman told me-

that for some reason he didn't fully understand, the Ultra Plus (orange box) is now only sold in-store, and not on Sears' website.

It is one of the best detergents I have used in a long time. I never want to be without it.

Ultra Plus is still for sale in store only.

It was taken off the web site for shipping reasons as when they offered free shipping with the 2 for 1 of half off they lost money. It can be gotten at any store. have them send it to package pick up and they will even load it for you.. I just got 20 boxes this weekend.

About the only difference I can find in the green and the orange box is the fragrance and for some reason I think the orange box formula works a bit better. The price is SURE better. I have ask Bob the CEO of DeSoto Chemical several times what the real difference is and can never get a straight answer.. he assures me it is one of the best selling items sears has and is far from being discontinued. I am also told the profit margin on it for sears is very small and they use it to mainly get people in the store.. That is why it is always as far away from the doors as they can get it.

Odd. I still see it on Sears.com.

It was always located in the hardware section of my Sears store for whatever reason...but now they have it near the washers...go figure. I wish they made fab softener. The dryer sheets use to be good, but I think they disco'd them a few years ago.

Does anyone know what the best price is for the 275 load version? It's $23 right now on sale.[this post was last edited: 5/24/2010-21:57]

In our store the detergents are next the paint and paint supplies. Wouldn't it make more sense to put the detergents with the washers and dryers?????

The Sears store here in Wausau must be an anomaly then, the detergent is located just to the right of the front doors. In fact, that is where their entire appliance dept. is.

Sears is NOT operated with a lick of common sense! If not for stupid they would close for sure.

Sears Hardware

The Sears hardware near me has it in the paint section. (?) The full-line Sears has it by the appliances. I recently tried the orange and am most impressed. I must say, Suds, I agree with you that they don't have a lick o'sense. Nearly every time I go in a Sears I leave shaking (or scratching) my head in disgust.

Sears was never my favourite,

or my parents' favourite, but once upon a time, it was a solid, well-run organization. Now, I just have next to no use for it.

However, this detergent is reason to have a tiny bit of hope for the place.

Also, since they've finally figured out decent laundry cleaning without phosphate (I will admit that most detergents are better with phosphate) that the other manufacturers will eventually come up with decent no phosphate dishwasher detergents. May be a while, but I think it will happen.
