Are you sure?

The website says that is the "Sale" price, for the 125 load boxes.

The stuff itself is really, really good. I know they don't make much money off it, but, they do seem to sell a good bit of the stuff.

Like Amway's "SA8 Bioquest" and Fuller Brush's "Fuller 86", Sears Ultra is a low-sudsing detergent that rinses out well even in softened water. It doesn't remove stains as well as the Tide With Bleach line, but not all loads require the big guns. I like to use Sears Ultra for sheets and bath linens, neither of which require major stain-fighting.

I fear for the future of Sears. Heard they lost nearly half a billion dollars last quarter, alone. They can't keep doing that for long before something drastic happens.

I'd hate to see anything happen to the Kenmore line of appliances. Even though they're all custom-made for Sears by other companies, most of them have a few features not seen in the parent brands. Nearly every appliance category tested by Consumer Reports has a Kenmore model at or near the top of the ratings.

It doesn't bother me too much even if it's going away- I bought a box and was never impressed with the cleaning power, it had almost no scent, and left white streaks on dark colors, while making everything stiff and scratchy. I gave most of it away.

Works fine for me. For darks I use either Woolite or Cheer for darks. Everything else in Sears Ultra. Rinses clean. Then again Yogi did tinker with the water fill level of my Maytag, so it now uses like 40 gallons per wash.

I just came home from getting 2 of the green boxes, and the shelf sale price wasn't the same as what shows up online. They should give you the online price which should be lower.

you have to watch Sears with in-store items and on-line items.....pricing varies between the two.....and it may be a case of discontinued from one area, but not another...

I had that with a TV from them, on-line, no longer available....but still available if you went to an actual store location...and yet they both came from a warehouse, most likely the same one...

I still like the stuff, works great for me....

I saw a news report about Sears the other day that indicated a lot of the stuff that sells on the holidays has not yet been stocked by Sears. There are a lot of empty shelves all thought the Sears network.

Hey! After a little dogged determination and a few transfers from place to place (25 minutes later), I found 2 boxes of the "free" version nearby! Woo-Hoo! Thanks for the heads-up!!!

Chuck

Chuck,

Did the shelf price and the price that came up in the computer system match, or did they have to do a price adjustment like they had to do with me?

@polkanut

Or like Sears did here, and changed the formula of it's detergent all together and it never did work like the original. I remember alot of complaints about them changing the detergent and people not buying again because it had lost it's cleaning ability.

Bought 2 boxes of the Ultra Plus with Fabric Softener (125 loads) for $7.88 each with in-store pickup. The website indicated the store only had 4 boxes of this left in stock. My local Sears was OUT of the regular (non-softener) and the Free versions. I'd sooner have dental surgery than go through the part of Columbia where this particular mall is located for pickup during the Holiday season. Maybe I can wait until AFTER the Christmas holidays to pick this stuff up, since it's paid for, after all.
