Seeking Fedders AC with a "Weather Wheel"

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I had one like the one in the top picture in this ad (that's not me). It was nice and quiet, and cooled well untill the chassis rotted out. I still kick myself for not restoring it before it was too late. I'm guessing it was about 8-10,000 BTU or so.

Casement Fedders

Had a casement model of the Fedders with the Weather Wheel. Ran for years. Left it when I sold the house as the new house had central air. 120V and about 8,000 BTU. Condenser fan hub broke off and my neighbor and I repaired it with an industrial epoxy. That kept it running for two more years.

They must have sold millions of 'em in Florida back in the day. Especially the dual cool/heat units. I remember them all over the place in Miami.

In fact, I'd bet Miami is the place to find these old window-shakers. Perhaps you might find one new in the box in some old appliance warehouse somewhere----its possible.

Wow thread cross-pollenation at its best. *LOL*

EUREKA!
