Selling my Hoover A3110 Electronic 1100

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thanks guys I am going upto the house tonight to discuss giving them something towards curtains.

I really am in 2nd minds as to get this black plastic thing from them after reading your comments and also seein on ebay that they are failing with the electronics. My last hoover I had before my A3110 was useless at washing and failed so many times. I think my A3110 has proved itself and it wouldnt look too out of place in my kitchen. I think my parents are getting at the fact that it is a new kitchen with expensive wooden floors etc.

Floors

Hello richard if you are worried about moving the black machine and it marking the floor then put some washing up liquid on the floor infront of the feet and once the feet touch it they will slide easily,
No such problems with the A3110 as it is on wheels ;-)

Hi Richard,

Think of it like this, if you stick with the black Hoover, I would put money on within two years you asking our advice as to what machine to buy next after the electronics fail or the pressure system gets blocked or the bearings / tub fail all these faults make this black Hoover beyond repair.
Not so with the Electronic!, can be fixed easily!.

A3110

Richard

Well i'm always swapping & changing my Washer in my house, it's getting to the stage now that i'm almost an expert at it. Luckily all the machines that i have had have had wheels on them. I think you will get bored of that new Hoover because they all have the same old boring spin sequence programmed into them.

Sticking with my A3110!

They are taking the black machine that way I haven't parted with any money.

They are giving me a white modern zanussi though free of charge which I will put in my shed.

Question for you guys... would a hotpoint drain pump fit my A3110? ITs an old hotpoint with no filter in it so evertything passes through the pump.

This is the Zanussi machine that they are leaving me... found it cos the solicitor emailed me the address of the house that the vendors are buying turns out the machine they are giving me is from the house they are buying.

They are taking the black one with them and this will go in the shed...

What do you think to it?

Zanussi

Hi Richard,

Regarding that Zanni you're inheriting above, you'd be better off with either the ZWF14791, or an older version like the FJS1466W or WJD1667W.

These newer models don't last long, the #01 prob, drum paddles falling out.

I actually have a Zanussi JetSystem 1600 Washer Dryer WJD1667W, currently waiting for a new dryer fan (hopefully getting fixed in the next 02-03 weeks) seeing as my Servis Sapphire Washer Dryer's up the spout at the moment.

OK so my A3110 is in place in my kitchen...

The vendors rang me re the Zanussi, told me it was leaking water all over the place? Not sure if that was because they wanted to keep it for themselves so they thought they would tell me it was leaking everywhere.

But im glad I didnt sl@g my A3110 off and have kept it as my faithful machine! Its not let me down yet so I am sure it will be fine!

Heres a picture of my new kitchen you can see the A3110 in place in the left corner!

Sorry about the pink mood lighting! Will be upgrading these soon to LED so can have any colour I wish!

Looking for a timer now for my a3110 it keeps getting stuck in the rinse cycles and spin came home other day and it had been spinning all night long! The casing was warm!

Can't find one on eBay :(

Timers

Hello Richard it is a crouzet 879 type timer, it is the same as that used on the A3190, if you google it they do come up, there was a place up north I think had them in stock but that was a while ago

I really am going to have to make a decision soon... the machine is starting to stop when it gets to the rinse cycles or when it is on spinning it gets stuck when it should advance onto a spin so the drum is rocking back and forth and you can just hear the machine clicking.

I don't have £200 to spend on the timer so I may look into selling the machine. I wouldn't buy a brand new machine as I like the high fill levels but I do need to get this sorted soon as came home the other morning and it had been stuck on spin all night the casing was warm to the touch.

The machine does need a good look over but its so hard to get to the meets really to get it looked at.

Anyone got a machine they would swap for, or for me to buy something off of them in exchange for this? Something that is good to go? This would be a good machine for someone to restore properly as the machine is in top nick just needs a bit of a service and stuff. Someone in the know who has a spare timer will sort this easily.

Kind Regards
Richard.

Timers and Time

Hello Richard well as you know now these timers don't repair themselves they only get worse, this fault is almost a design flaw in the stepper motor drive, it is made of hard nylon and can wear to the point that it no longer advances the timer, the later range of timers used metal in place of nylon and rarely if ever suffer this fault.

If you were closer I could do your timer or Mat in Cardiff could, but the problem is unless you can find some one that is willing to come to you in Leeds who has experience of changing these its not going to happen.

You might have to visit one of the group members and swap it out for a while.

I remember that ever since you have owned this machine you have wanted it looked at, well the thing is if such an arrangement can be made then the whole machine can serviced, suspension, motor, belt, bearings and anything that needs looking at.

These are very good machines but not designed to run forever with out any maintenance, so you need to get your head around this and also the possibility of taking it somewhere within the group.

If you can hang on about another 5 weeks till after Christmas then something can maybe be arranged.

Gary

Yes I can hang on and more than happy to travel distance to have it looked at. I love the machine but there's things that need sorting on it. Suspension does need sorting and ideally would like the logic motor putting on it but I don't have the converter thing.

I'm actually off work now till 21st December on annual leave as it's my 30th on the 12th it's been so hard to get to the meets due to my shifts.
