Peace be with you, Teddy

How sad, as he's been ill. Is Rose still with us? She has seen a lot of her brood pass before her.

i remember being in the fifth grade, when the class was informed of John Kennedys' assasination. Then later on I believe,in Jr. High when Robert had the same fate.

I remember thinking poor Ethel, I always thought she was so Kool,LoL.

Then i remember how close to home this was happening, the Ambassador Hotel at the Coconut Grove here in Los Angeles. ...

May he be granted eternal peace and let perpetual light shin

The Kennedy clan is as close as I think America has gotten to royality. Jack was killed on my second birthday and was burried on John Jr's 3rd. I have always felt a connection to the Kennedys because of that.

Mr. Kennedy was a force to be reconned with and did so much for this country. I hope people can forget his "bad" past and remember what great things he has accomplished for us.

Teddy's mother, Rose Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Kennedy passed away January 22, 1995, age 104, due to complications associated with pneumonia.

What's there to forget? It was a car accident, and Kennedy went personally to report it to the girl's parents even before the local authorities were notified.

Kennedy like all other people had his share of problems, but the fact that this event is the best "dirt" his enemies could ever come up with is a testiment to the caliber of his moral compass, second only to Robert's.

R.I.P. Ted, you earned it.

What's there to forget?

He left a young woman to die because he was worried about his career and he was running around on his wife. Ah but that's water (or a car for that matter) under the bridge.

Give it a rest people, for heaven's sake. Yes, it was a terrible incident, but you can't change what was. Let God take care of the retribution. As it says in Matthew 7:1-2, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." KJV

So true, Tim. But hardly unexpected. After all, we're talking about people who believe in ghosts and sky fairies. Not the brightest bulbs on the tree.

It doesn't suck. What did suck was growing up among "Christian" hypocrites in my family and school. But now I surround myself with authentically good and loving people, instead of people who pretend to love simply because they feel obligated or because they're afraid of sky fairies.

The difference has been extremely refreshing.

Let it go

It was 40 years ago, let it go.

If Mary Jo's family has a grudge then it is up to them to let it go. But Senator Kennedy was a true leader that suffered from some indescretions in life.

As Jesus said, "Let he who is without sin throw the first stone."

Just remember, that it was Senator Kennedy that was a crusuader for gay rights, civil rights, minimum wage, univeral health care. Remember him for his good things was all I was asking.

Dropping Of The Perches Has Begun

Unlike Republicans, many older Democrats have not retired, and several are in poor health. Senator Byrd comes to mind, along with a few others.

Sorry to hear of anyone passing, and it is good that at least one of the Kennedy brothers was able to make it past his forties, says something. However it must be said that sins of the father are often visited upon their sons.

Whatever your opinion of the Kennedys---individually or as a group---Edward's passing signals the end of a political/social dynasty for those of us 50-and-up.

I'm a Kennedy man, but no matter how you rationalize it, Ted got away with it at Chappaquiddick. No doubt his family's power and stature kept him from doing time. Political figures were often sheltered before the '70s.

He spent the rest of his career fighting for the poor, the sick, and for living wages.
