Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Nigel.
You've got it! Never thought of the provider of the NewPol machines. This is the closest I have in the archives, in the form of the NewPol Extra Dry 2000 from 1979.

Although fascially (you know what I mean) its different, the filter cover and lock, plus the similarity of the door, are the giveaways.

Mystery solved - thanks for the info.

More interesting facts...

Hi Nigel and more information for the pot, was Domar the holding company for the like of NewPol and possibly Balay? like GDA was for Hotpoint Schreiber..,

Can you tell us how the programmer control knob worked and was it a Newpol or continental you worked on?

Interesting how both manufacturers have similar charictaristics particularly the control knob which is most unusual....though I did think it has a touch of Beekay Bauknecht about it!!

New Pol brochure

Hi again everyone, had a look for this last night and found it, never made the connection that the Continental and the New Pol were one of the same, thanks for that. The front of the leaflet has the port hole cut out to reveal whats on page 3, hope you like it. Cheers, Alan

NewPol

Oh another great brochure Alan, many thanks, interesting the dryer is up to 120 mins that must have been a hot dryer as the models produced only had spin speeds between 380 and 475 If i remember correctly - wonder what this one was?

I always remember seeing these in the local Comet shop which was in the "Kwik Save" shopping hall!! The school uniform shop was next door, ironic how I would end up working there a few years later in what was Status kitchen & bedrooms which was again taken over by MFI...I spent all my spare time in Comet and the staff never batted an eyelid when I advised and sold a customer something - got me more discount lol[this post was last edited: 3/18/2014-13:39]

Hi Alan.

Well, the NewPol is a complete surprise - thanks for taking the time to hunt down, scan and share this brochure.
Reinforcing what others have written - a great brochure, of a rare machine.

Can get rid of my grainy Which Magazine derived image of this machine now and upgrade to a portrait!

Highest regards
Paul
