Wilkins 504...210d arc?

Hey Mike,

The "504" is the Maytag design which have the 210 degree washing arc at 63 osc a minute. The UK designed machines were superseded in 1973.

The advert came from a Price Service catalogue which repairers and retailers could subscribe to from the late 1950's to the 1980's....these catalogies show EVERY appliance on sale in Australia. I now have the Washing Machine section, plus some dishwashing pages of the years 1961 - 1978, with the exception of 1973, which doesn't exist in any library archive in Oz.

JUST for you!!!.....i will create another thread and show what Wilkins Servis sold in Australia in Washing Machines from when the first UK designed machines were made here...how does that sound?

Cheers
Leon

Bendix

Hi Mike,

Did you manage to find a pic of that bendix washer I mentioned. All I can say is it was like a bendix home laundry centre, the soap dispenser was on the top, it had a dial for different programmes, also had a button and if u kept this pressed in it would choose the wash time, also the programme timer was like on a reel and looked like it was made out of paper, it would show the wash time, rinse, spin, and it had lights for wash, rinse, spin. Hope this info is enough to furnish you
Regards
Paul
