Hi guys my so waited and wonderful Servis Mk2 arrived just 15 minutes ago, the problem? It came with it's knobs destroyed!

The plastic ring in the timer and pumping knob were missing as for the timer and pumping program dial peel inside.

Unpacking it pieces of plastic ring, the timer knob and peel dropped on the floor, and God, I didn't crush it anywhere so it was during shipping!

There was just a knob untouched and is the one of the spinner heat, the timer does not even have the spline....
Here is a good question....where to find spare knobs?
Also how to have access to the timer  attempting to fix it?
I'm posting a pic later

Thanks in advance to everyone who can help me.

Also

I thank  infinitely to  Nina  for everything and selling shipping it to me,  despite she  took much care of the packaging and  she did a good job  they were able to damage it anyway.
Also I thank you Fido for getting Nina in contact to me! Thank you so much!
I hope I can get it fixed!

Please help me!

Bloody Shipping

Ohhhh that is terrible, i am so sorry it has gotten damaged, there is nothing more upsetting.

There are Servis people on here who can hopefully help you.
Good luck

Gary

"there is nothing more upsetting"

Yep! And unfortunately I experienced it also in the past but not so much, but what can you do? I'm contacting Fedex asking what of the word FRAGILE written in large letters on the package they did not understand, it is the first time something like this happens with them.
The machine was on a pallet without any type of rope or belt, just supported on it itself,  the cover was crushed and the work top enamel have some scratches and was removed (I guess from the hit) and some enamel splinters were still there and BTW one got in my finger also!
But this is not what concern me mostly, nor the bent wheel that i can fix rather those knobs that I bet are very hard to be find and also the repair on the timer....
I hope some good, kind and charitable guy or girl  on here is able to help me with this issue....I'm so sad and disappointed.
I already love this machine! Every time my eyes points to  it now and I see it  in these conditions I'd be able to break a wall as I'm angry!

Thank you for comforting words! I appreciate them!

Timer spline

Hello if the Timer spline is missing then sadly thats been snapped off as the spline is part of the timer the knob just pushes on to it. However do not despair there are timers about I have a few, I just need you to tell me if its a 2 or 4 contact as they did two designs. You will have to take the front panel off to access the remains of the timers.
There is one screw under the pump knob and then there is one underneath at the front you should be able to pull the panel away from the bottom just make sure you do not pull any wires off without knowing where to put them :)

Austin

Thank you!

Thank you for the help and offer for the timer, I've  noticed  there is a screw under the pump  knob I'll  look for the other one underneath tomorrow when my sister will be here so she will help me also...
Of course I will  make sure to do not pull out wires  I will just see  the contacts number to tell you and I'll wait until I receive the new timer, I will let you know  thank you!
I forgot to mention that the pumping dial of  peel  is whole luckily, looked like it was missing a piece but it's whole! Just the timer peel  with wash times was shredded!
Having the timer working will be a huge step ahead! I wish I can find two or three spare knobs also though,  I've also noticed that the spinner heater knob have a crack  and turning it scrapes all the blue cover of the dial frame,  but some loctite would solve this problem I guess will buy some tomorrow and try, if   so the research for knobs will be just for two( just the empty knob also would be fine)  maybe a kind member  could pull out his wash timer peel  and  photocopy it and send the copy to me, so I will cut it and put it back in place,  by laminating it maybe so will be "timeproof"  .
It is just an estetic issue but that I hope to fix anyway as well, this machine is fascinating and considering that apart knob and a few scratches is like  new it would be a pity to keep it this way, I spent good money to get it over here also, I hope they will at least partially refund what I spent....
It is a fascinating machine and I already love it so much! Looking forward for a wash!
Thanks again!!!!

Hi Freddy

I've just seen your email and I thought I'd have a look on here too, to see if you posted any more pics. I'm absolutely gutted about what's happened and so is my husband since it was his elderly grandad's machine that had been so well-looked after for all those years. How could they have treated it so carelessly?!?! It was clearly heavy and clearly fragile!!!!! Grrr it makes me so angry. Perhaps it fell over in transit? Anyway, if you can send me more pictures I'll contact Fedex and log a complaint and ask for some sort of refund. I'm so sorry that your excitement about receiving it has now been replaced with huge disappointment.

Nina

Thank you Nina, I will send you more pics later for sure, I already wrote few lines to Fedex yesterday and spoke with a Fedex UK rep...the Fedex UK didn't help and told me that I had to contact the Fedex office of my area to file a complaint (a payment number for the record).

Nina I'm almost fully sure that is fell,  it was on a pallet suppoorted just by it's weight, no belt or rope, a wheel was bent as probably it engaged on the pallet and stayed hanging on that side for awhile,  I believe also it slided  going here and there and getting hits.... the body a part the scratches loks OK, but you know  it's a very strong and heavy machine, it's plug was all bent and you know that to bend  one of yours UK plugs thick fins you need a good weight/force on it! I really spent alot of effort to <span id="result_box" class="short_text" lang="en"><span class="hps">straighten it, so it means it was pushed so much even under that thick layer of bubble wrap and cardboard.
I have no words for all this! You took much care of the packaging and really did a good job with, I cannot think if it wasn't well packed what I'd have received then!

They treated it very badly!
I will send you more pics later.  Luckily you got those pics before the shipment so we can send them the after and before to let them understand what they did!
Getting angry and grumble now will not give me back the knobs and timer, so I just have to calm down and think to fix it.
Thank you Nina again!
I will work hard to restore it.

Servis MK2

Hi Freddy, sorry to hear about the delivery, will search about and see what we can come up with, basically its the wash knob and timer and the pump control knob, must say they are rare and only come to existence when a minger of a machine is scrapped, which hasnt been any in my case, I`m sure I have a pump knob....

Will check this week and let you know asap!!

Do you have any more pics, is it rusty or is that just the phone camera?

For anyone searching its the two lower ones that Freddy needs!!

Hi Freddy,

Congrats on your machine, you have been waiting for one for so long, bit of a bummer that it got a bit damaged in transit, but rest asured, I am sure amongst us we will help all we can.

I will pop to my garage tomorrow and see if i can find any knobs, I scrapped my first Mk2 years ago, after i fully restored it, it had a few issues and a new had already come along in perfect condition, I am sure i took all the knobs off. I think the removal of the front panel can be a bit tricky if it is anything like the MK1's, just had a look at the technical manual and there are two pins that come up from the base which the front panel have holes for, there are 3 tabs at the top of the panel which go behind the front frame, I know when i took mine of I found it tricky and ended up releasing the retaining clamps at the back, although i am going back over 15 years so the ole brain could be getting rusty !! The attached pic is of my first servis twinny.

I will let you know once i have have a rumage !!
Cheers
Keith

Thank you guys for all the kind help, wishes and support!

Thank you Keith if you can find the knobs you'd make  me so happy, I'm  sorry to hear you had to scrap your first one, and after the restoration but I'm happy another one came along!

I already removed the front panel and it was not that difficult just the 2 screws that Austin mentioned,  I removed the internal switch frame and checked the timer, is a 4 contacts timer....
I do not know if it's bad but I found some oil in the cabinet dropping from the gear box, is that normal from a servis mk2 or I should I worry about?
I'd like to try the  wash motor before bothering anyone to search and send any spare knob or piece , is that possible by jumping the contacts now just to see if it runs as it should?

Anyone knows what is the right contact to do? Just upper and lower contact  of each left or right  side, or upper side left and right  and lower side the same way,   or maybe  crossed contact?
You're so kind everyone! Thank you so much guys!

God Bless you!

If is has been on it's front at some point the oil has probably found it's way out of a vent hole. It might need to be topped up but then you could clean up the mess and see if any more drips appear.
I'm sorry it got damaged but your story is very familiar. A lot of these delivery van drivers are very careless but to an extent I can understand this. They are very poorly paid and often required to do an unreasonable number of deliveries in a day so they have to rush everywhere. In some cases they are not even regular employees but temporary workers who might be at a different job the next day.

Thank you Phil!  And thank you agan for getting Nina in contact with me!

The oil looked old, not fresh....I could see some even in the base..,
Eventually how can I top it up?
I want forget about  this story and don't talk anymore if not with fedex,  the speech you expose is correct I believe though that  whenever is company oveloading and underpaying employees  or simply not checking what their employess do is fault of comapny anyway, so maybe employees could be excused/understood, company not since they ask good money infact is from them now I'd like to get a refund, anyway now on here I 'd just like  to look ahead and focus on repair...I do not want bother you with my grumbles again, too much already....

Thank you all again!

You cannot imagine how happy you make me!
