Thanks to the mini wash meet held at my home a few weeks ago I got to plug in and try a servis mk 2 twinnie originally made in Australia that I bought years ago but had never tried. After a bit of water in the spinner it all ran really quietly and without a hitch, the wash tub leaked due to a split drain to pump pipe.
Darren kindly sent a spare pipe and wash tub top seal.

So today I started to strip it down in the hope of a wash going on about an hour later but nothing goes to plan with vintage washers.

So

So after the strip down sadly the drain pipe Darren kindly gave me was incorrect so I need on of those. As the machine appears mechanically in great condition I've decided to strip down the casing to get it blasted and repainted. I'd like to have this as a regular one to use.

So far I need

Possibly spin belts or knowledge on how to tension
Spin can rubber mounts
New castors
The rinse flume pipe repairing

If anyone has any parts or know someone who has let me know thanks

Richard

I can't really tell from the photo what the problem is with the new hose but sometimes you can modify them by cutting the hose at a straight section and inserting a short length of a suitable size copper pipe and clamping the assembly with jubilee clips.

You've got further than I have with the Mk1, I've had a quick look and found much the same as you have. I'm glad you've posted the pic of the spin belts as I was wondering if the Mk2 belts would fit but it looks like they are quite different. Good luck with the resto and keep us posted.

Hi Richard

Sorry for the long delay, I only got to the garage this weekend, If the belts are the same as the supertwin 100, 108 then I've most likely got some belts, just a matter of checking the sizes as I got a job lot box full most unlabled of course.

And again i've some castors but no idea what they're off.

Also, and without knowing, but is that spin motor on a spring tensioned swivel, just looks on the photo as it might be.

Anyway if I can help that would be great

Mathew

oh and forgot,

Richard, sorry it's off topic, but whilst I remember did you get the valves for your mums washer, the daft thing is I actually had some in my bag of bits, whilst we were looking at the keymatic, if you need any other parts for her machine do ask, I've certainly got new door gaskets and doors, plenty of the clips that hold the glass bowl in the door as well as motors and timer knob.
