well John you can get them repaired. I use emw electronics for module repairs. example shown below. If you need any help i'm in your area quite alot.

The mother in law lives in Lincoln so is close to where you are.

I will have a look at the link. It will be a shame to throw out this gem as its in such immaculate condition.

Should be straightforward just take a pic or mark up where wires go incase you forget lol.

Servis Quartz PCB

Hi JRH and welcome to the club, can you tell me what was the fault with the Quartz??  Did an engineer confirm the fault??

 

These are great machines, who knows what it might have looked like now if only the carried on with the Great Name pre-1991 as was!!!

Hi,
My wife rang British Gas today and the engineers report says its needs the power pcb. If I can get it fixed they will fit it and give me the money as its still covered by a guarantee(costs £108 per year!).
Option 2 is to have a refund of £108, which is the cost of the years subscriptions.
Option 3 from British Gas is to have an £118 contribution to another machine at Comet Electrical.
Decisions - I am thinking that I should get the pcb repaired.

What do others think?

What was the original fault??

If it was the PCB then £60 quid to get the washer running again is great, assuming everything is up to scratch!!!

The British Gas Engineer just said that its a faulty PCB board. When we tested the machine a few weeks ago it would not fill or spin properly. Just kept going round and round slowly without going into a fast spin on the spin cycle. Thats all I have to go on.

Brushes

Check the brushes? I think you either have a minor motor fault or plumbing fault. Check the hoses etc. and if no luck then your board needs repaired but that can be done.

Shame emw don't do these anymore. www.qer.biz do them still if you put 6033 into the search box they list a repair on the board. They deal with public and trade. Like you say Bpelec will help too. I've had Quartz parts out of them before years ago when I had my 6033. Hope you get it sorted.
