Servis Sapphire Washer Dryer 1300

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thanks Paul,

Now all I'm waiting for is the completion of the refurbed plumbing arrangements in the garage, and for my other machines to positioned to their spots on the back wall.

Then I'll be able to test the Servis on a Rinse & Spin, then a short drying cycle, before I set it going on the Servis cycle wash (Service Cycle) to freshen/clean it, before it's ready for it's 1st proper wash, which I sorted earlier & have put into the drum ready, I've got three loads of cloth sheets ready for washing/drying, spread over my three Washer Dryers, which are, the Hoover Logic Premier (In one of above photos beside the Servis), the Servis, obviously & my Zanussi Jetsystem WJD1667W.

I'm dreading Winter meeting the Zanussi, may have a struggle with the dryer, like last year.

Videos'll follow, & a photo or two of all three of the Washer Dryers together.

Drum of the Servis.

Turns out it's a microhole drum, not a spincare or chevron, you'd've thought they'd've stuck with one drum design for all machine types of the specific model ranges.

Anyway here's a pic of the drum.

Hi supermaticjames,

Yes I will take a photo of it without the lid, my Dad & I're upgrading the garage utilities so I'll get Dad to spare a screwdriver to take the lid off for the phot when we move all the machines into their relevant spots.

I notice your Aunt had a Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 Washer Dryer WD22, my Grandma had an Indesit 850W, but when the bearings copped out, I put my foot down saying, "you need a new washer, Grandma" a few days before the final Indie issue, I'd seen a otpoint Aquarius 1000 Washer Dryer WD22 on sale in the local appliances repair shop in Armthorpe, for £180, I gave Grandma 02 choices, the Hotpoint for £180, or a Zanussi like my above one for about £450, she opted for the Hotpoint, at the time.

We had that machine for about 04 years, from the 03rd of Jan 2003 until October 2008, we passed it onto my Grandpa, as his laundry went missing on most occasions when it was at the launderette, during it's life with my family, we treated it well, the only issue we had was if it was unbalanced (indicated by a whining from the motor) it would usually blow the main house fuse when it ramped up.

Great machine, even for a 1000RPM spin, 1st time Grandma used it, she pulled the programme knob out to start it, but also did so with the dryer timer too, pulling the knob off the fascia. She learnt after that incident, & with me teaching her to use properly.

After my Grandpa passed, we put it into storage, I was going to have it ultimately, but Mum & Dad said I'd have to choose between the Zanussi I've now got & the Hotpoint, I chose the Zanussi, so Mum insisted we sell it on Ebay. The people who bought it came, not far from where I bought the Zanussi from, around the Pickering area of North Yorkshire.

Anyway, yes I'll take a few photos for you of the Servis without it's lid for you.

BTW, if you're interested, there're 02, maybe 03 short vids of Grandma's ex-Aquarius WD22 on my YouTube channel, my username is WD860, if you're interested & want to take a look.

I've added the link direct to my channel for you below.

nice machine

congratulations on your new purchase CJ and i look forward to seeing it in action! im so glad i get the hotpoint 9566 and i will look after it really well !! good luck!

Hi Christopher.

Apologies for the silence since you got your machine, but have a lot going on at the moment - hence me catching a moment to catch up on all the threads.

Congratulations on your new acquisition, which looks in excellent condition.
I have been watching some of the videos you have posted and the machine sounds good too, equipped with its Hotpoint motor (dont worry though, this will be its original motor).

My grandma has a Sapphire Autowash 1300 though, can you believe, I have never seen it in action.
The first time I saw a similar Servis in action was with Mike Kings Electra 1300 washer dryer, about 6 months ago.
Have to say I think we were all a bit disappointed that its programming reflected the Hotpoint way of doing things, with its burst of 1300 for 20 seconds or so only...

BUT...

that doesnt stop them being great machines and I am really pleased that you have got one.

Keep on with the videos and have fun!
Paul
