Anyone bought anything on line lately? Stuff I bought is taking WAY too long to get delivered. I ordered a CD from BestBuy on May5 and I still don't have it. Tracked it and it was in town on the 10th and it's still not here. Called the post office and they said Oh, after it gets to Flint it gets shipped to Detroit and then sent to Flushing. The lousy cd was 2 miles from me but to get that 2 miles it had to travel 120+ round trip.

Also bought a few other things about the same time, another item shipped on the 7th UPS but according to tracking it's not scheduled for delivery until the 19th! This is insane!

What the hell is going on? Are shippers purposely delaying shipping to force people to pay for expedited shipping? I've bought a great deal of stuff online over the years and never have I seen such slow shipping.

When it comes to media such as CD's & Books and the like (some people include everything) the shipper charges first class shipping charges and then ships everything media mail which is cheaper.
I had this happen to me with an Ebay seller. I bought a CD and it took 2.5 weeks to arrive.

sounds par for the course.. everything that supposed to come to our town I think has to go to Toronto 180 miles first, get sorted and then come back the 180 miles again. It's why the big ol post office building downtown now has about 3 employees instead of a 100

I usually don't have a problem.

It does help that all the major shippers have hubs in Wichita, which is only 10 miles away from me. DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc. Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport helps speed along deliveries as well.

I almost always have good results. Even stuff coming from the coasts gets here in in about 4 days shipped ground. Even things shipped USPS first class arrive in a timely fashion. The shipping doesn't cause problems. It's the processing time that get's me. Some companies take longer to ship the item. I've had that with Amazon.com. The processing takes longer than I expected.
