Shopping Carts, Buggy's

Was going through old pictures and ran across this one of my grandparents country store in the 1950's. The shopping cart lower right got my 94 year mother to talking about when she and my granddad went to Oklahoma City and purchased some of the first carts for them to use in this store in early 1938.

The shopping cart is said to have been invented in Oklahoma City. Same with parking meters, though I lived there ~15 years in the 70s-80s and parking was never a premium.
